Ah well, just make sure to alert me when Chobits become commercially available. I don't mind if it takes a long-time. I may have other problems by then, which a human woman might mind, but a robot can be programmed to ignore.

The thing that is most unbelievable about this article is not the part about having sex with robots, but the notion that the institution of marriage will still be commonplace in 2050. It's almost laughable.
In 2050, I will be 61 years old. I highly doubt that I will be buying one of these robots, let alone marrying one. This kind of thing needs to be done in my youth! I want people to think I'm a dirty pervert, not a dirty old pervert. Of course, if a friend of mine lets me borrow his, then it would be rude to refuse |

I think a date more like 2130 would be more reasonable. The rate at which humanity's technology advances doesn't seem to be exponential as once thought, but like population growth in more of a stretched out S-shape (rising fast then leveling off) and repetitions of that pattern.

Well, if you're thinking churches, then the answer is... They don't. They'd turn you down in a heartbeat.
Now, there's other places like in front of a judge...or Las Vegas (need I say more?) that would simply marry you, give you a marriage license, then send you off. |

I will give birth to the terminator...
Every single day, the world is becoming more anime-ish... (In a way...) One day, people will start injecting babies the moment they come to life with hallucinogens which cause them to forever see others as anime characters with anime-like features. Etc etc.. |

As for sea life appendages... who knows... (: (: (: I do agree with you though. At the same time, I think anime, sci-fi shows, books, etc are good predictors of the future. Although they may be inaccurate, one day it may happen just like those space elevators. They're currently researching carbon nanotubes to create an elevator which will rise up to a space station in order to deliver people and other goods, powered via light/solar power. Isn't it exciting! |
