The finale didn't impress me tbh. I liked the Kyon/Nagato moments but nothing really much more to go with beyond that. The confession was probably the highlight for the episode and I do admit that it was charming to see.
However, it's a lot of the same stuff that I had expected from the first half of the show. I think the Disappearance Arc were the most memorable episodes and there were a slight tone of that in the first few episodes. But yeah, finale was kinda meh for me.

Wait.. that was the final?
It didn't really feel like the end of arc, and tbh the show had some far more powerful emotional scenes in earlier arcs (and not just the Disappearance stuff, the stargazing and the coat stuff were really good for awws). However something this episode did get really well was Kyon's inability to spit it out. It felt real, and he acted like a real high scholar trying to talk about something emotionally sensitive with a girl. The scene with Asakura knowing to do homework was funny wink wink, nod nod moment And a final note I still can't figure out what the hell going through Haruhi's head with Kyon and Yuki. Their was a lot of scenes where her face was hidden in this episode.. and we all know what that means. |

I thought that this spin-off will repeat like in Endless Eight... until Ryouko Asakura mentioned about homework. Thank you Asakura-san for not putting this spin-off in an endless recursion of time!
Well now, seems that Kyon answered Nagato-san's confession. Too bad that Yuki-chan didn't hear it due to fireworks. Maybe in the future, she'll get her chance! Gotta say the ending for this spin-off wasn't too shabby! |

In the spirit of this being a finale, did The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan fulfill your expectations coming in, fall short or exceed them? For me, it satisfied them, bringing the manga to life.

I know it's a spin-off. I merely wanted more of these characters and that's what I got. I still want season 3 though |

14 episodes was normal back then; a lot of animes were 14 episodes. Nowadays that's shrunk to most anime being 12 episodes, but 16 is an weird episode number.

What the hell? That was the finale? Did the show get cancelled because the show was pretty awful as a whole. It had its moments especially with Haruhi on the spotlight, but everything else fell short and bland. Nagato was just a boring character period.
