Danchi Tomoo
This is a seinen comedy manga adaptation (the manga is serialized in big comic spirits) From ANN: Quote:
While I don't know the source or the staff, the fact it's from big comic grabs my attention and I also like that nhk will air this since that means more than 2 cours is a genuine possibility, the source material is definitely there, there's 21 volumes.

An update on this
The official website has a trailer up,if I understand things correctly it'll be a saturday morning show. No studio info yet however it'll be directed by Watanabe Ayumu known for Space Bros and Nazo no Kanojo X so this is definitely on my radar now!

They did get phi brain though but only once the 2nd season started. If this was airing on TV tokyo I'd be confident it'd get simulcast but since it's airing on NHK I really have some doubts though of course I'd love for it to happen.

So here's some updates on the staff
Supervisor: Watanabe Ayumu (Space Bros, Nazo No Kanojo X) Director: Ishiguro Kyouhei (directorial debut, has worked on episodes of Wandering Son, Kokoro Connect, Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun...) Series Composition: Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun (Ginga e Kickoff, Heartcatch Precure) Music: Hasegawa Tomoki (Nazo no Kanojo X, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei) Art Direction: Tajiri Kenichi (Aria the origination, Tamayura) Animation Production: Shogakukan Music & Digital Entertainment Well I was hoping the studio info would tell me if this would be short or full length episode anime but the studio has done a mix of both so I can't tell You can find the cast on the MAL page as well

The story appeals me but I found the other details to be weird, although they are unusual compared to most other modern anime. I'll try the first episode to be honest, and the animation reminds me a bit of Kingdom so I'll see the reputation of the show according to the viewers.

Based on it, I guess this is a full length episode anime though it's possible they're doing it with 3 stories per episode (like Folktales From Japan) or even more than that... Just like Enzo, I'm hoping this series get a subber or even a simulcast. |
