Nakahara not singing in this episode is quite the travesty.
As for the ending image, given the Geass link, it shouldn't be a stretch that Ookouchi Ichirou could be involved as well? Or maybe they just used his name. I mean, even the kanji is exactly the same! |

Takako had always been endeared to me. This was a great episode with a great Takako moment among many.
I wasn't surprised at the cameos given the director's connection, albeit a controversial one. My gosh! Nagi's song was radical! It was the episode's best moment. Last edited by khryoleoz; 2008-12-07 at 03:59. |

some unfortunately bad art this episode (which will hopefully get fixed in the dvd/bd release). but the effort put into the karaoke content made up for it IMO.
i shot flames out of my nose when tsugumi sang, and nagi's CM song left me in stitches. but what absolutely made the show for me was takako's sickeningly perfect sugary jpop performance (there better be a full version of this song on the OST/vocal collection!) |

Man, I just have to comment again.
I can't get enough of Nagi's song. It's among the funniest musical numbers I've seen done. "Mame kue, mame!" "Souzetsu na...iroke". The performance cracks me up! Takako is also quite addictive. |

Yeah, it's seldom that my fanboy mode becomes engaged to this level, but this episode manages to nail it and then some. Time to take off my rational hat and go stream of consciousness mode!
It's been awhile since I laughed this hard and I basically sat there watching this disaster unfold with a big goofy grin on my face the entire time. Everything was just so.... right. Tsugumi wins this episode again with her moeness (no surprise there I suppose), but Takako just had me in stitches with her performance. It's just so disgustingly bad that it goes into the depths of terribleness and back around on the other side back to EPIC territory. Nagi also was outstanding. Of all the things she could have done... she picks that song? Brilliant comedic moment right there. Also, her handling of the sound effects was absolutely first-rate and added a whole lot to the comedy. And the faces. If there was something I really paid attention to this episode, it was the characters' facial expressions. Among the characters, Tsugumi's reactions to Zange's machinations as well as Jin's preferences towards Daitetsu were utterly priceless. Poor girl, she tries so hard, but other people just get in the way. And the ED. It just killed me. Christ, that was a perfect and hilarious way to end this episode!

I should just about copy zzeroparticle's post, since I had pretty much exactly the same reaction. It was only occasionally ROFL funny, but I was giggling all the way through it. The awkwardness of the whole thing as well just made it so amusing. You kinda get the feeling that (with the possible exception of Takako and Nagi) no one wanted to be there. It was like almost all of them were dragged in there and forced to suffer through other people's embarrassment before getting up and embarrassing themselves. Hilarious!
But, oh man, Takako completely stole the show. That was brilliant! A million awesome points to Takako. And it seems we haven't seen the last of Yamamoto giving Lucky Star the bird. Not only was there the obvious scene, but even the opening scene, with the camera on the closed door to the karaoke room while we hear only the voices of participants inside was a Lucky Star homage (or, more likely, backhand). Although, I still think Kure-nai ep 6 wins the award for best all-singing, all-dancing episode of the year, but this would have to be number 2. On another note... Usually I have no interest in shipping, most of the time it strikes me as blatant fanwank, but oh God I am shipping these two at the speed of light! OTP! Seriously, they are made for each other. Edit: Two things I forgot to mention. 1. They seriously need to release a full version of that song Takako sung. 2. Shino with her eyes open? They can't tease us with that and not show us. Edit again: Make that three. 3. The comic timing in Nagi's song was impeccable. Absolutely impeccable.

Seriously, I have played the part where Takako sings at least 10 times now!
I want to see a version of the intro with her instead of Nagi! I have been wishing for those two to become a couple for a while now.
