Around the early 20th century, when everyone still found it fashionable to grow beards and stuff, the Chinese warlords were no exception and all of those guys had pathetic-looking 'staches. A lot of them would certainly have looked better to have gone clean-shaven.

Kinda reminds me when I have a long enough goatie I like to imitate that beard-pulling motion which appears often in an Ancient Chinese themed films (what's it called again?).

Kinda seemed like everyone who had beard do it and not just the scholar though. I guess a variation is pulling that thin mustache like you described earlier, though I never did that because my mustache never grew that long.

I need some help Animesuki! So I've been experimenting with black, and white portraits. This time I took a self portrait; which I was aiming for a 50-60's style. I can only add one to my portfolio, and personaly I can't choose between my black & white vs color! I'm leaning towards the black and white one, but idk! what do you guys think? (I finally shaved and got a hair cut lol both pictures where taken during different times of the day hence the catch light) Yeah I like the black and white one more!
