I like the art direction that they are taking with this anime (Liked it since the first few concept drawings), but i'm a little disappointed with the over quality.

Can't say anything more as of right now..

According to Tomino the trailer was put together in 3 days... I'm sure the real thing will be much better. It is animated by Sunrise Studio 1 after all (the same studio that put together Gundam Unicorn)

The Gundam looks better without the backpack. The trailer wasn't impressive but its too early to tell and I'm excited for another Gundam series.

Okay, something I found after rewatching the trailer a couple of times. Besides the cheerleaders, the MC is the only one happy all throughout... Not sure if this creeps me out.

still not sure about Fon Spaak......

unless he's like a gritty version of Kamen Rider Wizard's Souma Haruto........

It's an excited-happy expression. I can imagine it on people when they get something they want, like a new toy, a gunpla, etc.

I would be okay with some alien technology to a certain extent, especially considering this is "after" UC. I'm hoping the storyline doesn't take place on Earth;

I agree that the animation looks like a cross between E7 and Turn A. The animation does not appear to be at it's best, but Space Battleship Yamato 2199 would churn out previews with questionable animation quality and have it cleaned up by the time the episode aired so I'm not worried. I'm also pretty psyched to see that Tomino has a hand in this. When was the last time he actively worked on a Gundam series?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed on the storyline. I watched about... 3 or 4 episodes of AGE when I decided to call it quits. It just didn't succeed in holding my attention. And I've been hesitant to watch Build Fighters. The overall concept is just... why? It doesn't sound like Gundam at all. So yeah... Hopefully this one is better.

No less than Ramba Ral actually talks about that. Gunpla battle isn't life or death - that's why people can take it seriously and be passionate about it. Build Fighters is a celebration of the franchise and the fans who made it possible.

Plus, it's got some of the best gundam fights of the century.

As a fellow Gundam fan, I can say with complete confidence that you are seriously missing out on a lot by not watching Build Fighters. In fact, Build Fighters is actually more enjoyable the more Gundam shows you have previously watched.

They already did:

Mature: UC OVAs
Children: SD Gundam series

The main Gundam TV series (and their OVA/movie followings) is something in-between, which can lean on either side: it can be more mature or more childish. The goal is of course to get wider audience and drawing more new fans.
