Man, this brings up nostalgia of the plays we did back in high school. We studied Romeo and Juliet (one of the required topics, if I'm not mistaken). We were tasked to perform one of the acts. I directed one group, and we did Act I. The acting was good, but it sucked overall. By the way, this was in an all-boys high school, so it was pretty much a gender-bent version of what happened in this episode. We didn't do the "kiss by the book" part, but the other group, which did Act V, had a kiss, IIRC. Our Juliets were effeminate already, we wouldn't want to challenge ourselves further incompatible casting since our grades were on the line.
The gravestone/Rosetta stone incident is indeed a typical occurrence in amateur plays: there will be improvisations at the last moment. Also, though I understand the circumstances for casting Yui and other classmates as immobile trees and bushes, this normally would be a waste of manpower. They'd be better working as crew (handling the props during the play) or prompters (in case actors forget their lines), the latter being conspicuously absent in the episode (unless it was Mugi, who incidentally wrote the script, and the others who were closely watching by the side). All in all good stuff, although the previous episode was much better. That one really had me laughing at every turn. With the mention of the Occult Club, I've been waiting on the K-On/Occult Academy crossovers. The other link is, of course, Yoko Hikasa voicing both Mio and Maya, a rather boggling disparity of character traits. |

Wow this is a great ep, with all the action, drama and comedy. Just love it! Agree with CaptnAwesomee the next is gonna smash all the other eps...(i'm exaggerating) I really enjoyed watching the bit when they sleep over, hilarious and how they all went crazy!

Pretty good episode overall though I didn't like quite as much as I had hoped play had some great parts, but felt it could have been better, so I'd give it an 8.5 and felt much less funny compared to 18 did. Anyways I hope the concert portion of the upcoming episode doesn't disappoint.

Fuwa Fuwa Time is my favorite song from the band so I don't really mind if they play it in this week's episode -- that is, of course, if they actually play the whole song -- although I think it is unlikely that they'll just be playing their old songs. We'll most definitely be hearing a new song (hell yeah, U & I).

I can say the same thing about Frostii. However, at least Chihiro is still at least trying to be on schedule. Sylf and his bunch over at Frostii seem to be taking their sweet little time.
