Yeah, it's true that they were a lot more physical in the game. I'm not as bothered as Chibi, but I'd like to see more of the Tomoya x Nagisa moments that the game has animated. Oh well you can't get everything.
Lol I thought Nagisa's "illness" was stupid too at first. I mean, wtf a randomly appearing chronic illness that just goes on and off? Such a "fake" illness is what made me not care as much about Shiori from Kanon. Last edited by RandomFlameStrike; 2009-01-11 at 02:57. |

By party, I was actually thinking of Okazaki gathering several people to celebrate it at the house.. That shouldn't cost much. |

I kindly redirect you to the very first post on the first thread for further reference, and ask you to remove that post of yours before you burn the eyes of some unwarned anime only viewer.

I mean seriously, they're bloody married already. They were married before they freaking married, Nagisa was at his house every damn day making all his meals and talking to him like they were newlyweds. I'm looking for actual signs of affection between the two of them, because god damn it I think we deserve that type of interaction at this point. Shows like Toradora and To Aru Majutsu no Index incorporate body language into the conversations taking place between the main characters, and it adds sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much to the actual relationship between the two interacting. Something like Taiga rubbing her feet on Ryuji's back, or Index with her arms around Touma and them rocking back and forth a bit does VOLUMES to display a link between two characters without even talking. This show utterly lacks that. Again, the only time she's managed to even brush his face adoringly or WILLINGLY gone close to him is when she was drunk, otherwise she was just rushing to his side in a crying fit after he managed to conclude the problem of whatever arc the show was carrying on about. Come on, is it really asking for all that much, especially from a MARRIED couple? I mean, fuck the graduation, getting married is a much, much, MUCH bigger step in life, but we don't even get to see that either. I mean I can understand cultrual nuances, but we're past that point of high school shyness, so I would hope we're entitled to it in some form. Quote:
But I keep coming back anyway. I'm going to blame it all on you when it does. Just you wait.

If you are so adamant in rejecting my second reason, I will concede since I don't see much point in discussing about cultural perceptions over and over (though it may be important to remark that, statistically speaking, the Japanese average person do tends to be less physically affectionate than his/her Western counterpart. Some Anime precisely provides an escapade from that emotional drawback for some people) , and cover myself behind the first one. You have to enter the authors mind and understand what he is trying to tell you

Oh I'm not really rejecting it, I'm just questioning the validity of showing a married couple, or a couple period, but not displaying simple things like signs of affection along with it, because I actually enjoy that type of thing you know.

What happend to Tomoya hugging Nagisa from behined and getting in the way of her doing homework, or the first kiss in the park while they ignore the fact they were in a public area, or the game where they held each others hands for as long as possible, all skipped >< I'm still hopeful since there are more chances along the way. They'll need to get going if they are going to go to a certaint point...
Well on the other hand there's no dening how much Tomoya and Nagisa love eachother. There aren't too many physical signs in the anime but it's as plain as day. |

To my mind the series would have been much better if KyoAni had included those episodes. I'm really disappointed now. I wanna, wanna!, WANNA all these signs of affection within the couple. Yes, we see the great love between the two persons. But all this love is shown as rather "emotional" love, kinda "let's be together, let's make each other's life more comfortable, let's become each other's reason to live for". But not "be mine and only mine! I want to have and own you completely! I love you to the very extent where I dream to be you". Some hugs, touches and kisses are not that-ero-stuff to hide 'em completely due to "censorship" or something related. Hiding them takes some of the charm of the anime. Something bright, fascinating and not real we watch it for. Idealized relationship. So, damn you, Kyoto Animation again. I love you very much and I hate you a bit. Srry 4 teh bad engrish. It's not native for me. |

That said, I'm perfectly happy with even having implied shows of affection. |

I was thinking the same thing but I thought this, In the lone island Haruhi episode they cut all alcohol from the episode but the kids get trashed in the novel. But in Clannad, Its clear as day Nagisa drinks and gets drunk and they even show her drunk to Tomoya. I don't get it either at all...
