I actually like Mitsuru, although this may be because I like Canon Mikuru. Similarly, I don't like Haruhi as a character, which is possibly why my short non-novel pieces tend to have Haruki noticeably absent. It's all based on ineffable personal taste, in other words.

The general consensus was "Girls don't love guys like Mitsuuru," not "Mitsuuru is completely unlikable." What I was pointing out is that the "general consensus" was made up of guys stating that.
