Are you kidding? I get headaches all the time from doing so much headbanging! I listen to all kinds of metal. But my favorites are Ozzy, Arch Enemy, Kittie, Otep, and Nightwish.

Yeah. I know. Really, I just started getting into it september of last year. Before that I was really girly and listened to pop and crap(rap). But then my friend introduced me to Nightwish, pop and crap began to sound less and less good, and metal began to sound better and better! I'm really glad I got my act together!

^mm, not so sure about pop, but there are some good rap songs out there, most of them not the mainstream stuff (which is crap, to me).

in any case, any recommendations for some good metal? it's been getting hard to find great (and new) metal bands for me lately.

Necrophagist would be nice as an intro. At least you get REAL metal in your eardrums.

I'm not really the biggest metal fan, but I did see that someone was looking for Japanese metal bands in this thread so I thought I would recommend Boris. I'm not sure if everybody would consider them metal, but I think some people in this thread might like them. Here are some links to some youtube video's by them so you can see what they are like.

Korosu

Ibitsu

Death Valley(live)

A Bao a Qu

I hope somebody likes them!

It's weird as i used to like kind of rock (examples: green day etc..) but then got older and got into completely different music type only course i liked Dj-ing, but then i have changed now to heavy metal (examples: all that remains, trivium etc...) but yeah i have to say i love the guitaring and userly the songs when its full on shouting to less as load into a balland style.

Funny, it's just now that I'm beginning to appreciate Black metal. In the past i only listened to stuff like Cryptopsy aside from my ecclectic "tastes".

At first sight I thought, wow they are Gundam otaku!
I clicked this video expecting a song about "A bao a qu" the Zeonic fortress, instead it's probably inspired by that book by Borges, etc etc

You need to take the time to sit down and listen to some.

I love anything with a good guitar or drum line in it. I've never really considered "metal" to be any different than just "rock". All sounds the same to me if it has good guitar. I don't consider screaming to me music in general, unless it has good guitar lol.

Favorites: Metallica, Ozzy, ... heck anything with good guitar

Man, opeth is mostly accoustic. What's so metal in it?

You might want to check out their "Deliverance", since it's their most "agressive" album imo...
but yeah, Opeth for me isn't the kind of thing that I headbang when I listen to it...
