I don't get it. Shirou's contract with Saber was severed. How did Avalon activate?

Dang, I really felt the emotion in this episode.

Shirou is definitely about 1000x more likeable in this path.

Avalon activates as long Saber's mana is present. The fact she was in the room was enough for it to work, though haven't seen the episode yet. I gathered thats how it works from past experiences.

You don't need a contract for Avalon to work as long as Saber is nearby to provide mana. It was the same case for Irisviel who wasn't a master.

I like how they did the monologue of Shirou (with Archer) in this episode, it makes it more understandable when

Loved the episode. The Lancer and Rin scenes were done perfectly, and Archer and Shirou's scenes were perfect at conveying the similarities to Saber's ideal.

That was an emotional episode, the interaction between Archer and Shirou is very well done and we can feel for both sides POV. Tears came to my eyes and Shirou became more likeable. The music at their scene was nicely done too brings much emotion to those scenes

What do you mean "Steel is my body"? That's not what he says! Also Archer was definitly not "out of mana", so I think there was also a mistake with either Saber's line or what Archer answered afterwards...


Aside from that: Great Episode! This covered the important lore aspects very well! Some people seem to be as salty as always, but it seems the general consensus is quite positive this episode and I agree! The first half of the "make or break scene" was a success!

Although I must admit that I really want to see Archer actually... using his deployed RM, instead of just using up his prana to "show Shirou the place he will possibly end up in".

Shouldn't the RM also protect them from outsiders? If so, than this protects him from Lancer who may have saved Rin and was on his way to stab him with his gay bulge

of course its still more effective to be in a contract with Saber for maximum effect like how in Fate/Zero during Kiritsugu's fight with Kirei, he regenerated a crushed heart from Kirei's strike in moments instantaneously. Here Shirou is mererly suffering from some stab wounds which is nothing in comparison, prana from close contact with Saber works fine

ofc it doesn't make sense for him to be nearly out of mana, if he can sustain deploying his Reality Marble for almost 5 minutes and skewered by Gilgamesh, AND surviving long enough to put an arrow through his head.
I believe its purpose is to have Shirou fight progressively better against Archer and not just get killed in a second seeing how Servants have speed and strength of more than 50 men combined at their lowest stat possible

That was amazing. Everything was perfect. Depending on how the next episode goes, this might end up being even better than the VN.

The Lancer scenes were also awesome. Just wished he had killed Shinji right there instead of just scratching him. Oh, and this.

That was perfect. Lancer and Rin's scenes were great. Lancer really should have just killed Shinji but I guess just lightly stabbing him and then having him run away screaming shows just how pathetic Shinji is.

Archer and Shirou's scenes were awesome. The scenes were just beautiful and you get a good idea of their fight is affecting Saber.

I laughed and then felt a bit bad about laughing at that comment, because that was exactly what I was reminded of.
