The subs were up by Friday, but what I really don't like about Amazon's subs is the presentation when compared to, say, Crunchyroll. They're doing it as closed captions, but they don't look as neat or flow as well, to my mind.

Ah, I hadn't checked. CR definitely has the best subs presentation out of the online streamers, IMO. Even with DVDs I own, the subtitling looks a bit blurry, or just plain unaesthetic (yellow and pixeled edges). But Amazon's kind of new to the anime game, so it's one of those things that'll probably get better with time. Probably.

@Benigmatica: I wasn't being serious when I mentioned the firing. Except for the "Mr." issue with the kids, the translator's doing fine. You don't even see awkward sentences or typos like CR/Funi frequently have. Sorry if that was misleading, man.

On that note, it was a nice seeing "Kadowaki-san" left as plain "Kadowaki" this episode. I honestly couldn't take the kids calling each other "Mr.___" seriously.

Was that that then? I know Noitamina have mostly done 11 episode shows for some years now, but they've done a few 12 eps lately so I was kind of wondering about this one.

I think I see what the show's getting at here, but still taken aback by the abruptness.

Episode 11:
Shunji delivering a sucker punch to Shugo is the main highlight on this episode, as well as that weird dream sequence for Takumi. I guess payback is a bitch for Kadowaki!

Still, I feel that I want more for BATTERY. Heck, the duel between Harada and Kadowaki never reached a conclusion in the end. Did Shugo hit the back or Takumi struck him out? We'll never know the answer.

Late post, almost forgot about this.

Battery...in the end imo was disappointing. Not in the way that it's disappointing because it's bad but I just lost a lot of interest in it mid-season. The character drama was too much and although realism was good, I couldn't really appreciate Takumi at all in the end. The finale felt underwhelming with the game as well.

I think Battery is probably aimed at specific audience (not exactly sure which) but likely not for the typical sport fan. There isn't much game-play as the series was filled with drama.

The ending was also very anti-climatic.
Idk, I had high expectations for the series but those were not met in the end.

I was also disappointed in this series. I expected a lot and was left with the most boring show of the season.

When I watched the first episode I thought this anime would end up being something special, except it didn't far from it in fact. Where did it go wrong?
