Yup. They can adapt up to the latest arc just fine with 2 cours IMHO. The chapters are not super long. Or are you thinking they'll go 1 chapter per ep?

I've been looking forward to this for years, knew this would get animated eventually but its still so much fun actually watching it now.

Poor Twilight, raising a daughter is much harder than stealing state secrets. Especially such an adorable adventurous daughter. The voice acting was great, Anya was cute and hilarious and Twilight has cool professionalism and exasperation down pat already. And it helps that his overall mission is to keep the peace, making for a lighter atmosphere overall even with all the cloak and dagger stuff going on.

Too bad for Twilight his mission just keeps getting more complicated but that's the fun part, watching him adapt and soldier on. That and more Anya.

I'm probably the only one here old enough to have watched the original Mission Impossible TV series as it aired. Appointment viewing in our house at the time.

Plus Landau had the very good fortune to be married to Barbara Bain (who played femme fatale Cinnamon in the show).

Best first episode of the season for new series/non-sequels. Expected to be one of the front-runners and it did not disappoint in shooting to the lead.

A very strong first episode as expected. This is already a great manga, so I fully expected the anime to be excellent. All the more so with the studios behind it. Really didn't disappoint. Twlight is awesome and I love how he handled things. A nice brief glance at his own past. Understandable that he'd have a hard time with crying kids when it ties to his own trauma.

Anya is a blast. What a wonderful and utterly goofy kid. She's got her own difficulties and it makes sense that she's sitting on the telepathy thing. Good thing she actually did commit to studying...the test answers. Otherwise she'd have been doomed trying to use telepathy.

This is going to be fun

Without Franky stealing the questions there is no way Anya would have gotten in, just look how many candidates there were. No wonder Twilight dropped dead after that was done. Really cute how Anya cuddled with her papa on the couch. <3

Vibrant colors, fluid movement, amazing voice acting, all around very great first episode. You can see that they put a lot of money and care into the series.

That was as great an adaptation as anything's going to get, my only complaint would be that it was very fast paced but I can understand them wanting to get chapter one (70 pages) done in the first episode.

Anya is even cuter animated! The way she actually speaks in Japanese makes her sound more childish than the English translation does. I was a bit surprised as a long time manga reader.

An excellent first episode for an excellent manga. They really got the vibe of the manga down pat. The ED was also the best I've heard this season.

It looks very promising, it was funny, has action, fluffy family even if papa is a liar lol.

Anya is a treasure and her faces were so funny. It looks like the next chapter is going to be even more funny.

Frontier Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2013	Spoiler: Takuya Eguchi is now a master spy with uncanny disguise abilities, and Eguchi knows how to capture the stoicism and dry wit that personifies agent Twilight. Also when Twilight puts on glasses he actually kind of looks like Eguchi . "Westalia?" I love it when they try and come up with believable names for a Western nation stand-in, but I also love how on the nose that name is . Poor Karen. She might seem a little shallow (and maybe a criminal like her dad?) but having your boyfriend dump you over dinner and insult your intelligence in contrast to the couple right next to you getting engaged has got sting...and he was using you the whole time to get to your father. That's before he uses you as a bargaining chip against said father. At least Twilight apologized to her in his internal monologue . Of course the spy who was adamant that he swore off having a family or having any life outside the mission would immediately get stuck with a mission where he has to make a family. Gotta love dramatic irony . "Meow" - Are agents trained to do that as spy code or is that just what that one agent is into ? Oof, that's a rough looking orphanage...but what's not rough is Anya, who is so adorable, innocent, and hilarious, and Atsumi Tanezaki voices her so well! And she comes off as such a believable and cute child, even when the show reveals that she actually has telepathy from experiments done to her in the "name of peace." She even has telepathy sparkles . Gotta love Anya reading minds and how she responds to them to the befuddlement of literally everyone around her . Nice to hear Hiroyuki Yoshino as Franky, although poor guy got stiffed money by Loid . Loid and Anya aren't so different. The reason Loid is so focused on his mission and so closed off is because he lost everything to war and could only cry at his own powerlessness as a child, and has gone through several identities like Anya's gone through families, never really finding a true home for herself. But at least the pair have found each other, and despite Loid's belief that this will end with her going back to the orphanage, I think Anya Forger is going to stick . Good thing Loid taught Anya about cramming when her big plan to use her telepathy failed because there were too many kids to read and most of them had no better idea than she did. When in doubt, cram . I don't know what was more adorable, Loid's pure glee at Anya passing and swinging her around and passing out over sheer exhaustion...or Anya cuddling up with Loid in the sofa . Just when you thought this was a story about a single super spy father and his telepathic daughter, it turns out any students admitted to the academy need two parents. So Loid has to find himself a wife . __________________
