The animation certainly didn't have the same kyoani quality we've seen in their other series. Of course, it could be a placeholder that was thrown together, but I'm starting to doubt kyoani's involvement. My money's on PA works, something about the trailer felt similar to their works.
I really hope that isn't the actual quality of the anime tho. Animation and art quality these days tend to look much better than what was shown. |

While we're at it let me just pitch in that I got white fox vibes .
Ok really, I think everyone is all over the board here and we're still not certain this is a legitimate announcement. I say lets wait and see.

I think for that trailer Visual Arts hired a small studio that animates VN openings instead of getting any actually anime studio. That animation actually looks a lot like the kind you'd get in visual novel/eroge openings.

I'm really surprised at some of the comments from people here. Surely it's not the most eventful PV ever released, but what little animation there was, it was well done.
As to who is in charge of this, I'm not certain that it isn't KyoAni. The character designs are certainly new, but Kyoto does get some new character designers every couple years, see Nichijou and Hyouka, for instance. And some shots do remind me of their style, in particular the close-up of Riki in the start. But oh well, can't be certain until they actually announce it.

Interesting trailer.
On the marketing side of things - If KyoAni is handling this, then releasing a troll trailer now fits into the broader narrative that Key seems to be trying to craft here. So if KyoAni is handling this, then this might be a clever and good marketing move. However, if KyoAni isn't handling this, the longer Key waits to reveal that the bigger the letdown (for Key/KyoAni fans) will be. So this is a bad marketing approach, imo, if that trailer is the real deal and KyoAni isn't making this (like many others here, I have a hard time believing that trailer is done by KyoAni). IF that trailer is the real deal, my guess is A-1. It does remind me a bit of AnoHana, and A-1 is coming off a very successful 2011, which might have made them more appealing to Key.

The only real bits you can judge the animation on are 0:32 and 0:38.. and they look more than fine, rest is mostly panning and shots with minimal movement. Considering this show probably won't air until Fall 2012 at the earliest you shouldn't be expecting an heavily animated PV anyway. Most PVs are footage from the opening few episodes... which undoubtedly are nowhere near done for this and probably nowhere near started.
