Honestly, I like the art style of this show. It felt like a mixture of painting-style and unique drawings that came together in animated form. Seems like the show deals with war themes and I'm curious to know about the main characters.

The main protagonist so far seems like a tough guy anyway.

That's potentially interesting, I like its whole art style and the 'potato-nose' look of the main guy is pretty fitting for a tough character. Even the shark-toothed big pirate guy looks interesting.

Interested to see how this develops.

That was better than I expected. Animation was surprisingly good, especially during the battle between blonde guy and the MC. I appreciate the lack of noticeable censorship as well. The MC is intriguing, he's already a famous general but he was imprisoned and sentenced to a exile (according to him, it should have been much worse), rather curious to find out the reason.

I wonder if the animation will hold up. With 900 ships coming, we should see some large scale battles, and those are tough to animate.

Yeah, that jump into the boat was ugly. The rabid violence was unfortunately all too realistic for that period, I'm afraid. I would not be opposed to watching a bit more of this and see how it goes. The main character seems a likable guy with quite a bit of depth to him, so hopefully that will be explored going forward. But if it turns into pure bloodbath without plot or character, then I'm out.

The chapter was very good, better that expected with a realism(except blue eyes blond ninja mongol jump) and the raining effect in the sea was nice, have potential hope they don't wasted it.

Art style is unique, though the animation did feel like it dipped at certain moments. Other than that, everything else certainly has the potential to be interesting.

Interested in seeing how this story goes.

The designe of the protagonist reminds me of the Ippo or Ushio, anyway it was a good start, I wonder now how much the series will distance itself from the real events.

This first episode was better than my expectations. The setup is quite good. Let's see where it goes and whether they can sustain what this episode showed.

An original setting, great fights and animation, also they're establishing basic character outlines straight away. Very pleased so far. It's surprising that one of the most fearsome armies in history (the rain of arrows says it all) is not being opposed by the combined efforts of the entire Japanese nation, but a dirty dozen style band of misfits. It seems possible that the group on the island will get wiped out, as in the opening flash-forward, but buy time for the mainland to organise a successful defence. I'm mainly concerned about the Princess's constant mood swings, but if they handle her right she could be an interesting character. I just really hope they make the mongols as terrifying as they ought to be, even if this doesn't seem like a flag-waving story to laud Japan's great historic victory.

Bit of a tribute to 'Sword of the Stranger', where the leader of Chinese infiltrators in Sengoku Japan is a blonde Russian mercenary? The Mongols probably have some contact with Russia even if they haven't invaded yet, so not impossible.
