Wow, I can't wait for the Takano & Tomitake album to come out.
And I wanna hear more from KEEP OUR LOVE because I wanna hear Satoshi singing.

Satoshi's (not Takano's...my bad) seiyuu, Kobayashi Yu, is indeed a really good singer. I've heard her sing before in Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. She's also a great personality as I got to saw her at Jump Festa when Gintama (she's Ayame Sarutobi) was on the main stage. xD

So far it seems like people are disappointed in Kokoro Musubi? I feel so tempted to get it though...

I never heard her sing (I can't hear the sample on the website, this damn player won't work), but I always liked her voice.

I liked 2,3,5 and 10 was indeed the best arrange version of You I've heard in a while

Also I never knew that Satoshi's seiyuu was a girl

She voiced Setsuna Sakurazaki in Mahou Sensei Negima (Crap, I almost typed Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Negima... Time for me to stop watching Nanoha, really ).

I've heard quite a few versions of You, and I love what I've heard of the 10th song. Even if the rest of the CD was really bad (which, from what I've read, isn't true but almost), I would still buy it just for this one song.
Obviously I can't because of the shipping cost and all, and that I've already bothered my parents for all the Higurashi games plus Kanon for Christmas (and I'm saving money to buy Clannad ).

Much like everyone, I would say 10, Kokoro Musubi worth the CD itself.
That said, I really like N° 2 as well, Gekka no Duelist (nope, not yugioh thing XD). At first it doesn't sound higurashi at all, as it sounds like something from an action/adventure/heroic fantaisy song, with the usual sword wielding hero, until the image of Keiichi with his bat popped in my mind

Common wish (3) started as bland, but quickly pulled insanely great instrumental spike, while Yuzuki-san was chanting nicely, just as usual.

The rest is fine, though the only true disappointement was probably integral integral (anNina was fine, but the music wasn't...).

You is basically the trademark BGM for Higurashi. it isn't that surprising for them to do an alternative version, especially that You and Thanks are the prime example of "reunion" and such things. Doing a "group higurashi" song without these would have make less "impact" i would say.

That said, they also did a "why or why not" remix anyway.

Higurashi isn't Higurashi without you and thanks. I'm quite glad that they finally gave dai some credit for his part in the Higurashi franchise despite the lack of his songs in the anime.

"Nico Nico Douga Musical Suite, Higurashi Version" or something like that.

It's based on a medley of various anime/game songs that became a meme on the Japanese internet-video website Nico Nico Douga. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsdLNfT7-gc for a version closer to the original (though I think the very original was sung by some random otaku, not Miku)

The very original did not contain any vocal parts. It was just the instrumental with visualizations you can find in windows media player as the video.

The thing about all 32(+) versions of "you/thanks" is that they're all doujin. None of them are official really but the closest to "official" you can get are the original ones under dai's direction. Many of the 32 are made by talented individuals. "Kokoro Musubi" just happens to be one of the few "official" ones really.
