The crux of SR is 'misunderstanding', apparently. Hayate no Gotoku's story certainly started with one of those, but I don't think lots of development included that as the main reason for why and how 'guy meets girl'....At least, not from what I've read from the manga thus far.

That being said, I'm still waiting for a parody of F/S N to appear.

i thought i read "love traffic jam" for a second there

now that its been mentioned there are some slight similarities between hayate and SR ~ but i just hope that the fuzziness is done away soon so we can focus on the big picture...a part which never happened in SR >_<

I read about some F/S N references but I don't know if they're really intended.
Near the end of episode 6, Hayate crashes through the roof and sits in the sofa that's broken in two like Archer's first appearance. And the sword that Yukiji sensei holds in episode 4 has the same handle as excalibur

Wikipedia somehow has episode 11's title: "The Value of My Life is Priceless" - "Boku no Inochi no Kachi wa Puraisuresu" (僕の命の価値はプライスレス)

Hayate no Gotoku ep 10 Screencaps and Summary

ep 10 was simply one of the most hillarious in terms of refferences, parodies, and most of all, comedy~

The beginning of episode 9 is from volume 4 but most of it is from volume 5.

are they skipping alot of material? i was flipping through the 3rd US released manga and there are scenes that were not in the anime. so I was wondering were I should pick up reading.
or are they doing like school rumble were some episodes are out of order?

They're doing it out of order.
Episode 1 - volume 1
Episode 2 - volume 1
Episode 3 - volume 1
Episode 4 - volume 4!?
Episode 5 - volume 2
Episode 6 - volume 2
Episode 7 - volume 3
Episode 8 - part a is volume 1. part b is volume 2
Episode 9 - volume 5
Episode 10 - original

Expect a 2 days delay on this one, folks. This must be the single most ridiculous episode we ever had to typeset. Right now we have 4 (!) typesetter working on it simultaneously, 3x ASS, 1x AFX.

EP 8 is the funniest show of this series I have yet to see. Those two dressing him up like a -anime-cosplay-doll-set un-forgetable. It cracks me up how the characters in the shows always 'act like actors' and speak in 'real-life' like ' this anime is for little children we can't show that' adds to uniqueness and their faces are engraved in my mind with it.

Nothing is better than a show that puts a smile on my face and gets me laughing uncontrollably.
