baaahh.

Half of this conference nonsense is just speculation masquerading as journalism.

The SEC does not want any more members unless it ABSOLUETLY HAS TO TAKE THEM. So people need to stop harping about A and M to the SEC or whatever.

Kansas St, Kansas and Mizzou, and ISU have NO WHERE TO GO if the Big 12 splits.

Whats more irregardless of what you think of it from a political standpoint, there is no way the government does not get involved if they take the next step to these super conferences. It's too messy.

I can't wait for football to start so we can actually talk about FOOTBALL.

We'll sorely miss Nnamdi here in Oakland; good luck in Philly!

With three pro-bowl corners, anyone think Samuel is going to get traded?

To be honest, I more root against Philly than root for anyone. I've lived in eastern PA for almost 22 years and I really cannot stand Philly fans. The Philly fans are already driving me insane on Facebook. Thank God it isn't fall semester so at least I have the Internet separating me from most people, otherwise I'd have to listen to their gloating in person.

You're right about the Philly contingent up here. Given that Philly comprises such a huge chuck of the state population, they're equally well represented up here. I blame them for much of the fan image problem we have. lol

If a team makes a good enough offer for him. His contract may make that difficult though.

Cullen Jenkins to the Eagles.

Philly is trying to do everything in their power to be the favorite in the NFC.

Agreed. Though they really need to get a new contract to DeSean Jackson. If nothing else so it doesn't look like they favor newer players to current ones.

They'll probably give Jackson a new contract once they're finished signing Plaxico Burress (yes, I'm being serious).

Might as well keep him for this year. Especially if they are stacking up for a Super Bowl run. I still can't believe they got Rogers-Cromartie and and a 2nd round draft pick for Kevin Kolb. That was highway robbery.

At least we know what most Madden online players will be choosing this year.

That wasn't a trade, that was a donation unless Kolb can live up to the hype as 'the Savior'.

Well, as we've seen throughout the past few days, you can't predict what the Eagles FO will do, maybe they will sign Plax and use him as a Slot (and if that happens, Avant's gone).

They will pay no. 10, no doubts. They still have 6 million cap room and a frachise tender for Vick, so once Vick signs a new contract, that will most likely be another 6 million saved.

It would have been better to just give a first for Kolb straight up. And I still even think that is a fair trade. But giving Rogers-Cromartie and 2nd round pick is maybe one of the worst high profile trades I've seen in years. Just on paper. Now if Kolb turns into the next All-Pro, it will look smart...but at this point that would be darn lucky.

But good for Philadelphia. They pretty much raped free agency.

On another note, Plax went to the Jets. 1-year contract.

That just makes it easier to root against the Jets this season. :-D

I wonder if one of our corners can play safety now that we got Samuel/DRC/awesome-uga.

That or they'll always get rotated to remain fresh.

Djax needs a new contract, obviously. But this seems to be an exciting season. AFC East is looking wicked strong with Jets/Dolphins/Pats all playing lights out. Philly should rape the NFC east no questions asked. Not sure about anybody else, but at this rate, it looks like a Philly/AFC East super bowl.

Whoa there. Green Bay might have something to say about that. We've seen that they can get on a roll pretty easily and dominate. Wouldn't count New Orleans out either. Cowboys could even rebound with Garrett now as as the head coach. Also, Vick is really susceptible to getting injured. And if Vince Young comes in, look out. Who are the Eagles thinking about replacing Mikell with at safety?

Yeah, the paper Super Bowl almost always never happens. The sexy pick will be New England and Philly, but watch it end up being something like Baltimore and Atlanta. God, I really hope Baltimore doesn't make it to the Playoffs or Super Bowl this season... or ever again for that matter.

DJax's ending holdout:

http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/ne...6-154ebfc7d541

And I guess the Eagles are pretty high on Jaiquawn (hard-hitter), since they pretty much drafted him which means that they most likely expect to lose Mikell to free agency. To make up for that, I suppose they would run nickel packages to make up for the lack of experience among the S and LB cores.

Maclin still needs to recover from mono, so I guess that will be another 1-2 months.

Paper superbowl are on paper, which is why you need to play the games. There is no favorites now because everyone's on 0-0-0.

Either strategy would play out pretty well I think.

They might juggle them around for different match ups and such.
