Since I can't find any of my previous threads that really fit with this, I think I'll just start a lump thread with new stuff in it to keep things neat per the mod's suggestion (*points to big sticky at top of forum*). Plus I can find this easier, post new stuff, and make everyone happy. Or at least I hope so. ^_^;;

Just got going into one of my new story arcs for my comic strip Monk and I wanted to show you guys some of the redesigns of the two main charecters, Dago and Monk, that I did for it. The arc is about gaming so these play along with that theme. I've linkified each pic to keep thinks 56k friendly if possible.

Monk in his Evil Derby Guy outfit

Dago in his "Battlefield Vienam" camo outfit.

Monk in his snipers outfit also from "Battlefield Vietnam".

Dago in his Swordsman's outfit complete with sword

Hope you enjoy these pics. I'll add more here in the future if I come up with some other interesting designs for each of the charecters.

I've always been meaning to comment on your work "Monk" ever since you started pluggin' it in your signature... I like that very simple art style... and some of those strips were funny... like the one where everyone got burnt up by that dragon....

like Za Paper said... maybe you should animate those characters ... like with Macromedia Flash ...

hehe. I have zero skills in Macromedia Flash. But if someone with skills in working with that wanted to help me out, I could easily lend them my art files and they could go to town with them. Then all we'd need is voices for the charecters, a storyline, some puns, and we'd be set.

My only suggestion is that you need to clean up the dragon a bit...

okay, alot. Everything else is clean cut, if slightly blurred, but the dragon screams "clipart."

Actually, the dragon was drawn that way, so it's not clipart'ish. That's the way it actually looked when it was drawn...well, minus the filter effects.

Slightly different version of the same header graphic.

The header image blank (aka image minus text) for you guys to play around with if you want to and maybe suggest some changes by example?
