Do you mean the 4th and 5th books? I don't remember the third book being like that, but then again I read it a long, long, long time ago.

In a likely nod to the character’s probable expanded role next season, Prince Tommen Baratheon has been recast. Callum Wharry, who was last seen as Joffrey’s younger brother late in the second season, has reportedly been replaced with Dean-Charles Chapman. Chapman previously appeared in season three as the doomed squire Martyn Lannister. Chapman is somewhat older and quite a bit more experienced than Wharry, whose sole acting credits are as Tommen in the first two seasons. So maybe Tommen will have more to do this season.

That's the 3rd actor for the Moutain.

Also, GOT cast on vacation.

I was watching a few old episodes, and the duel between Jaime and Brienne has me curious. Was Jaime really over-hyped as a swordsman or was it really his condition that caused him to lose? How does he really fair against Brienne or Loras? I remember watching his duel against Ned Stark, it seemed really close, but some people say he was supposed to be a much better swordsman than Ned.

Hadn't he been held captive by the Starks (and likely barely nourished) for months, if not close to a year by that point?

According to George RR Martin, Ned would have won that fight with Jaime if that guard didn't interfere.

It's not that Jaime is over hyped as a swordsman it's just that Brienne was a lot better than he thought she'd be. Martin has said he doesn't believe in power rankings for warriors because there are too many variables besides skill that determines a winner. He has also said Brienne is the epitome of what a knight should be minus the fact that she is a woman.

She is the type of knight Jamie has been wishing he could serve next to his whole life, if only she had been born a man.

Is this a running gag or something lol? Can't someone just stick with it? Personally, I really liked the first guy.

Conan Stevens, the 1st Mountain was busy acting in The Hobbit during season 2 so they cast Ian Whyte, the 2nd Mountain. But since Ian also plays as the White Walkers and the Wildling Giant, possibly to save time and money, they hired Hafţór Júlíus Björnsson, the 3rd Mountain.

I didn't even recognize the mountain after the first actor change, someone had to point it out to me or I would have never noticed.

They also changed the actor for Daario. The new guy doesn't look even remotely like the old guy, I have no idea what they're thinking. Though I have no opinion on the old actor, he was fine, maybe the new one is a lot better..

This killed me.

But I have to say that I like the show a lot better than the books right now. The books just depress me, but the show still is really awesome and holds my attention, even though it's just as dark as the books (if not darker). I'm not sure why that is, but I'm going to keep watching the show and I'm going to stop reading the books.

Though the way they seem to be going through actors for a few of the minor characters is kinda disorienting at times.
