Well, they've sacrificed that aspect for epicness -wannabe in storytelling. Wannabe since for everything they're building up in terms of story scale, it doesn't really feel epic at all. YET.

Since it's only RF6 and Jail-faction... nothing remotely close to the collapse of TSAB, evil insiders, 3rd parties, painful betrayals, risk of world destructions, and all that stuff that screams EPIC. And we still don't know much about these bad guys.

Anyway, from what Uno's character description said, Uno x Jail may not be too farfetched after all. In fact, I got Makoto Shishio x Yumi vibes from it. And apparently Tre holds Jail in a nice regard and trust him a lot...nice.

C'mon, I mustn't be the only one, right? I can understand a whole lot of other cracks, but Uno x Jail must have some appeal, right? They complement each other so well, Jail's fruity highness and Uno's collected calmness, and behind that layer, they know how to use "nice" words when talking, but not necessarily act "nice". Plus Uno's the only Number so far who has Jail's evil smirk-look! Even mind-game Quattro's smirk look more evilly playful than Jail-ishly sadistic and excited. That's got to account for something!

OK with fights, I used to think Nanoha was a shounen with fanservice. But it's deep yet shallower than shounen story, and some emphasis on relationship hinting made me think otherwise. Even then, its has too many fights to be shoujo.

That leaves only one remarkable slice of the target population. The tsundere.

The "onii-chan" factor is getting to him especially in episode 13. He really showed weakness for it.

Nightengale restores all HP/MP to maximum, plus a 50% boost at everything.

FlameSparkZ gets a 20% boost.

I'm more than comfortable with JailXUno(thanks to their photo LOL), but I'm not too comfortable with Jail becoming a harem master...even though there must be a reason for most of the Numbers being female...

It's things like this that make me wish Strikers was slated to be a 35-40+ series. Not to mention they are also quite ambiguous in the relationships department.
