Just watched the movie dubbed.... in my opinion, there will be no worry about Luci Christian doing a bad job with Ushio - I'm still wiping away the tears now

Let me get this straight guys. i am in the process of completing my anime collection that i have not yet finished. I only bought Clannad season 1 part 1 a few years ago and there was no english.

If I buy these two items:

Will I bet set with everything regarding Clannad? I downloaded it a few years ago but i forgot how many seasons there were. I think there were 2 and then after story right? So am i missing something?

That's everything. There is one season of Clannad, one season of After Story (Sentai Filmworks just elected to split up the first season so they could wring more pennies out of it).

Tad expensive on amazon though for the first one - try rightstuf.com and you can get it for $12 less.

Sorry but they did split up after story as well since the info on amazon for after story is missing the dub data (the initial release was sub only in two parts)

Ah, my bad - but the point still stands that there are only two seasons of Clannad (The first series and After Story).

From what I can tell, it sounds pretty good, although the whole localized "Big Brother" scene kinda makes little sense. Still, here's hoping that the rest will be good.

yay got my after story today!

-.- did they really need to use the same type of case again? i feel that the dvd is gonna break in half trying to take it out. Plus it's inconvenient if you just want the last disk.

You could do what I did-get a 27mm m-lock 4 disc case and transfer the discs and the label insert-presto, no more cussing trying to get the discs out.

Very good dubbing all round - only thing that grates me is the pronunciation of 'Ryou' during the back-end of After Story (especially when they got it spot on, in my opinion, in the first season! Always thought it was pronounced 'Ro' instead of 'Yo' like they seem to pronounce it in After Story)

Of course, that's a minor gripe, naturally - 9.5/10.

EDIT: In terms of the boxset collection, all in all decent. Subtitles for the OP and ED songs were schizophrenic again (some episodes had romaji, others had english translations, and some didn't have subs at all) - and more importantly, the ordering of Kyou Arc and Under the Green Tree is F'ed. Click on Episode 24 (Under the Green Tree) and you get the Kyou Arc, and vice versa.

Has someone not heard of testing merchandise before it goes out?

Again...minor gripe - at least all the episodes are there

that was my plan immediately but no place seems to carry that type of case. ><

That's just ADV/Sentai's standard practice. They alternate between romaji and English translations every other episode. It's not a practice I'm particularly fond of, but it's not that big a deal. But... no subs at all? That's strange... I'm fairly certain they were subtitled for every episode in the sub-only sets, at least. (Or, maybe the ending wasn't-- I skipped it more often than not, so I wouldn't know.)
