Waiting for the DVD-BOX to come in (shipped just over a week ago, was cheap and used Amazon.co.jp's international economy shipping)...

At this point, I can only assume college got in the way of further releases. Hopefully something will surface soon, though. (And not those other groups who decided they want to do this rather than one of the hundreds of other titles that haven't been fansubbed, geez.)

Some thoughts about episode 14:

Lion-san seemed to recognize Marika, and he also wondered about could she be that same girl which he met a long time ago. Good thing that according to preview of next episode, its consentrates on Marika. I can't wait.

Matters with Sano-sensei are partly solved as he quits from school, but on the other hand what really happened during accident.
When others remembered that Sano was part of the disaster and that he kind of carried it along with him remimded me of Hiroshima and how its victims were "blamed" for defeat, even thought it hasn't nothing to do with them directly. So it is understandable why he was angry about this but its not an excuse to put that anger on Asumi.

Indeed, Marika gets more focus for a while, and Lion-san continues to get a lot more screen time now that he's joined Asumi in Tokyo. We're getting closer to the last arc - though we have one more flashback left before we get there.

I really want to talk about episode 20's ending... x_X

Sorry to start a new thread just for this, but does anyone know if it is true that Twin Spica has already aired all it's 20 episodes in Japan?

Also, If that's the case, is there any other fansub group besides 'Anime-Fansubs' that is fansubbing it?

Anime-fansubs is great! I'm not questioning that what so-ever; But they've only been on episode 14 for a while now, so I was wondering whether simply the series has not finished in Japan? Or is it just that A-F has not finished fansubbing it.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I don't remember it all too well (I watched the ending back in early summer), but I felt it was kinda lackluster. Then again, I think I was expecting too much in a way that was inconsistent with how the series had progressed up until the ending. For the overall mood of the show, it was probably quite appropriate. It wouldn't hurt to have another season, though.

I found a link ofr the lyrics on some other thread in this forum but the link is dead. wondering if anyone knows anywhere else I could find out or just describe what the song is about. I'm curious

As of today (02/05/2007) ANIMAX started to air Twin Spica in Latin America.

What are my thoughts?

Let's just say that for me Twin Spica is Kaleido Star + Stratos 4, however, without the fanservice of the latter but inclining more towards the innocent-ideal-of-striving-for-a-childhood-dream-to-become-true from the former, and sharing the slice of life theme from both.

I am just disappointed that they gave away too many clues to figure out quickly the identity of Lion-san (the guy with the Lion's mask) in the first episode.

Well, this really wasn't about the identity of Lion-san, but like you said, fulfilling a childhoods dream.

Oh, and if you haven't seen this series yet, make sure you have a few tissues when watching episodes. You will probably need them. I did.

Dubbed(and quite a nice dub if you ask me). I watched it too, but it didn't grab my attention. I preferred Planet Survival that started airing yesterday too. However it was just the first episode, I still can't say for sure if I liked it or not.

Keep watching. It is a great little series. While the overall story is positive, there are lots of times when you will need a tissue.

Hello, since there's already a topic of Twin Spica, I won't make a new one, but ask here what i wanted to ask. Even if it's not all spoiler, i'll put it all in case :

It's sad, not the anime itself, not the fact it only had 20 episodes ( even if I wanted to see 50 ), but that from 17-20 the plot changed in a very baaaaaaad way.

I said, OK, they won't travel to space, what's gonna happen? I don't want to write a 5000-words-post so I'll get already to the point.

1.- In Episode 19, Marika says she had a sister, OK, what the hell? It's that real, it's a lie or she doesn't even know? IT'S HERSELF, but why does she say that?

2.- In the same episode Lion says : "If it's the same girl of x years ago then...(this would have been revealed in episode 20, i think,)". I mean, don't tell me the only explanation would be "she had a strange disease and that made it happen. It just doesn't make sense.

3.- Why did everyone at the end figured as boys, is that to show that they aren't children anymore and now the future depends on them or what?

4.-Why did "Lion" use that mask all over the anime? It's because of when he was small he used it all the time, or something of the sort?

I wouldn't assume this had a happy ending, since too many people died and suffered in some way, even Lion dissapeared (?) so we can say this had a neutral end, right ? ;P

It seems you misunderstood about Marika. She did indeed have an older sister... sort of. To be specific, Marika is a clone of her father's first daughter who died from disease. That's why her older sister looked identical to herself. I suppose it is just her father's idiocy to name the clone the same as the original daughter as if they are the same person. That's also why they have the same disease, though hopefully the new Mariko won't die since she is being treated for it.

Spoiler for Lion-san's mask:

The mask has several meanings. First of all, he used that mask when he was a child. Secondly, the ship he died in when it crashed on the city was named "Lion" and so he wore the mask to identify with it. Thirdly, he was ashamed and guilty about his role in that disaster so he felt the need to hide his face.

You read the manga, right? I didn't get any of those things in the anime :S , or maybe i'm a little slow. Or maybe the story in the anime is different from the manga, but in the way it was showed I understood that in that way...

Ah, something that came to my mind that made me be sure of it was that in episode 20, when Marika hears the harmonica she remembers when she "played" with Lion, then how is it that it was her sister? Maybe if you read the manga and it had a different story it confuses it all.
