Not one, but two childhood friend?
Its a dream come true for me

I like Rin, especially her slightly altered school uniform and tooth.
Also she's rather short compared to everyone else.

I liked Houki's shift between hot and cold.

Yawn. This episode was incredibly average. Everything is so contrived. Cecilia's complete 180 is hardly convincing. The second childhood friend is cute, but a little too similar to Houki. At least her tsunderness is not as extreme. Ichika is still a boring MC (I still don't get why he received so much praises those past few weeks...).

The bodysuits the girls were wearing during training were the best part of this episode. They even wear thigh highs! So much win.

What's this "deja vu" feeling? The "I should have stuck with the lightnovel/manga instead"...

Hopefully thing will be better next ep.

He should just go with Houki so the whole relationship debacle is over and go drive the plot into the deeper parts where all of humankind are threatened and they actually have a use for the IS system. I'm totally unserious.

Though to be perfectly honest, I'm starting to run out of reasons to keep watching. I hope the show will take off soon.

So, if this pattern continues, I suppose I'll just watch the even-numbered episodes to get to the action? Not that I don't like the romantic comedy stuff, but it's a bit boring...Like others have said, really baffled by Cecilia's 180 degree change of heart in just one night, Houki still too much tsundere (I suppose I should be having a problem with her so easily snap and hit someone with a kendo sword, but after Kirino last season, my goalpost for extreme has been moved quite a lot) and Ichika shows that he's as dense as his type usually be. Well, at least there's Fan, to be honest my favorite parts of the episode, definitely the best of the current girls. Let's hope she put up a great fight next week, too.

Btw, with Ichika saying that Houki is osana najimi no 1 and twintail is number two, is he more genre savvy than we thought, or does he literally just have 2 friends all over his childhood?

pretty decent episode with a taste of slice of life and an introduction of my favorite girl in IS. Well Rin finally showed up and the whole episode turn sweet and spicy. Too much sweet with all the dereness of Houki and Cecilia then added up Rin. But man. what a dense guy.

There's no freaking way he could've been alive. I'm officially more interested in the gradual conflict side of this story since I've officially lost hope the harem side will be anything more than irritating.

I'm beginning to think that Houki isn't so much a tsundere as that she just has extreme anger management issues she needs to get worked out.

I don't really mind the episode as much as others since I'm pretty much just watching this for harem antics, not really interested in the mecha side of things.

Its quite possible he will go through character development. I guess the prologue for ep 1 proved that.

Besides Cecilia's 180 personality turn on how she thinks of Ichika (is it probably due to admiration that he is actually worthy of her?) I sorta like the enthusiastic transfer student from China. Spices the harem up a little, especially with Houki against childhood friendship

Ichika might have a hard time going against another melee fighter, Cecilia was a range and getting close to her was basically game over in her case. But if you get frontal with Rin, especially with her experience with IS.. Ichika will not get so lucky this time even if he goes into his special phase.

Overall I give this episode a 10/10 judging from the buildup and anticipation of what to expect from episode 4, it did perfectly in executing this.

Fang-tan is definitely the only thing keeping me watching this show now. Keep it up, Lin! (She's from China, so it's Lin, not Rin.)

I guess I'm just used to Tsunderes that take their tsun out primarily on the main character. Houki doesn't discriminate and pretty much acts like a bitch to everyone.

For some reason I was expecting Rinin to be a hyperactive, loudmouthed type of character, but she is actually very likable. More level-headed in her tsundereness than Houki.

About Cecilia, Im ok with her sudden change towards Ichika, this is 12 episode harem, not a 40 episode sopa opera. Quick developments are expected and welcome.
Also liked her IS set up animation, I wanted to see something like that in episode 2, better one episode late than never.

Downside would be no mecha action whatsoever this time, but the scenario is already set for next week so...good episode overall.

Not for nothing, but the service was fairly tame. They really could have done more. Like Houki's changing... they could have changed that around and showed us some goods.
