Omg...ever since I saw the new designs of the Transfomers one thing comes to mind... RF Online...The designs are similar the Acrecia Empire.
But at least Optimus Prime(Convoy) still has his trademark red and blue truck form!

New trailer, that Bonecrusher guy has some issues though.

They've given Optimus a sword for hand-to-hand combat (Not the axe as he originally had but close enough) Megatron still retains his cannon and his flail as well as his "battle helment" Starscream also retains his "cockpit chest" And most of the car robots still retain that "Car frontal" chest when transformed. With bumblebee they have a volkswagon beetle shown along with him in a scene. Whew, seems like they did quite a bit to pay homages to the original G1 series. I watched transformers as a chilld, have probably seen the movie over twenty times, have it on dvd as well as the tv series and I saw the movie.
It blows away every other "blockbuster" release this year easily, I went in expecting it to suck badly but was pleasently suprised to see it get a decent review on my local paper of 3.5/5 which is pretty much as high as they go for such "lowbrow" films. Long movie but it didn't feel it whereas with Spiderman 3 and PotC3 you definately felt their "longness". Kinda sad an action movie like this contains 50x more laughs than the latest Shrek film. Some nice in jokes as well as some other genuine laughs. The new designs looked amazing during transformations, Bay could've gone with more Gen1 friendly designs ala Prime and Bumblebee but seeing them in motion is pretty damn awesome. Gen 1 fans going to be mad Spoiler:
Btw Spoiler:
Looking forward to the sequel(s), Bay sent out to entertain and from my point of view and seemingly the entire packed cinema he suceeded. |

I also read in Empire mag that the VA for Prime was signed for 3 movies in total and no it was not short on robots, heck some of them got so little screentime in the first place I'm amazed people would've wanted more, that's what the sequels are for.
Gotta love when Prime says Spoiler:
and when Megatron says Spoiler:
