[Manga] Chapter 431 Discussion

Welcome to the weekly manga chapter discussion thread. This thread is created early to discuss spoilers and speculation about the upcoming chapter.

As per the forums rules, please don't ask for or mention about where to download the (licensed) manga. Also remember not to post or link to any translations of the manga, since this is illegal as well. Posting a synopses or summary is fine (and welcome) but please do not discuss scans, raws, translation groups, etc.

Remember that the manga is licensed, do not post significant part of the chapters. This stands for pictures and direct translations. Summaries are ok, crops of pictures are ok as well if you want to illustrate your point but this is it.

Spoiler for Spoiler translations from ShounenSuki:

Looking at Kyuubi's responds to Naruto's anger Pain says that this is Naruto's fault that village become like this.

Sakura asks Tsunade to help her with Katsuyu.

Madara informs Pain about Hachibi.

Naruto's anger goes to climax, he creates few bunshins.

Because he's out of chakra and of the Hachibi's failure - Pain withdraws.

While at it - Pain tell Naruto about Sasuke's failure with hachibi, Naruto surprised.

It ends with Pain saying that Sasuke entered Akatsuki and formed Taka

Kind of a bad description (not necessarily the translator's fault), but still some interesting (possible) developments, if for no other reason than the Pain fight is postponed and Sasuke is implicated as a buffoon .

Well though it is some crappy summary or w/e, it sounds like Kishi's style. Get a really AWESOME chapter and follow up with a crap chapter.

oh god... tell me that spoiler isn't true... i mean JUST as i was FINALLy after a long time getting interested in the story again... Kishi totally dropped the ball

Naruto shows up, is horrified at what he sees, he's got sage mode going on, he's got even the giant toads backing him up; and his new look really says something... he then manages to take out one of the pains in a blink of the eye, tells the HOKAGE to sit back and relax as he swears to finish things once and for all... Naruto never looked so epic... and then! Pain just gets up and leaves... no revenge, no payback, no showing off... nothing... Well he destroyed kohona, good bye have a nice day, see ya later

y'know sometimes i feel bad looking at spoilers and think i'm missing something by doing it... but it cases of this, i'm glad i got the disappointment over with, rather than let it build up any higher...

If Naruto defeated Pain now: People would argue Pain was out of chakra.

If Pain defeated Naruto: People would argue that the Author should give Naruto a break already, he never gets strong enough.

No matter what, someone isn't going to be happy.

People would only complain if it was the final fight for Pain and he was killed... As long as Pain leaves alive with the promise that he will fight again, and that next time it would be when he is at 100%, i don't think many would complain... especially if the fight is totally awesome

no one says this should have been the final fight against Pain, but this whole attack on kohona should not end in such an anti-climatic way

Pain isn't defeating Naruto.

If all 6 Pains gets owned, who cares. Remember that's not the real one.


The issue isn't if Pain will get owned or Naruto will get owned. It's whether or not this is a talking chapter.

Probably fake, even by Naruto standards that would be a pretty massive disappointment... Why would Pain have lept down into the crater if he was out of chakra?

I guess that Naruto might intercept one or two Pains and then we might see another clue of what Pain is. With this, Naruto will probably get new rank. He might reach Chunnin.

Why the hell does rank matter? Only people who care about rank are the obnoxious fans. Naruto is already jounin level why would he be a chuunin?

It's like saying

"Naruto you're the strongest ninja in Konoha right now. You have surpassed the 4th Hokage and Jiraiya already. But I'm sorry since you never took the chuunin exams, you can't become a jounin or Hokage."
