While I have watched Hidamari and already knew the existence of art-stream cram schools, I'm still surprised at its existence--and the fact that middle schoolers needs to cram for it to enter a high school arts program...

As expected, lots of foodgasm faces. Really like it.
Realised that the show was not so much about the cooking but the emotion of eating and how we the viewers are suppose to get that when we are eating. Point was even driven across as food taste better when sharing. Don't know if I should recommend BroCon cause Rina Sato was sugary sweet in that.

Foodgasm, Foodgasm, moe, moe and more moe.
But the characters have a very strong charm to them, and focusing on two characters in the first episode makes the two current protagonist very compelling and interesting characters. I love their banter and dialogue, and the rapid building of a relationship with one another. The immersion factor is extremely strong there, as is the judiciously executed usage of internal monologue to give characterization depth, without it sounding forced. This is how to do Slice of Life well. Nothing is told to us, everything is shown. Very impressive first episode, compared to some of the other offerings out there. Definitely on my watch list. |

Just saw it. This show is dangerous if you're watching this with an empty stomach. Really good though.
Props to Okada for properly constructing the series. It feels like it is not a 4-koma adaption at all wow. I thought it would be presented by skits like the other kirara adaptions. It is nice to see Umetsu working at SHAFT again C'mon Shinbo make him your protege too |

Dawww, this was so adorable, cute and heartwarming. Glad I watched it. <3
I first thought there would be some kinda romance due Ryou-san's thoughts in the first part but given that I have seen no guy in the OP I doubt that gonna happen. It doesn't need it as it got plently of family and friend love, it seems. :3 So this one has a manga, right? If so I gonna read it asap. |

Well, that sure was...cute. And I actually liked Rina Sato's performance here. She can be more than an onee-sama. And yes, I too wanted some of that food on display.
That said, I would've liked to see a bit more of the Shaft touch. Yes, they went a bit overboard on Shaft-isms with Nisekoi and Mekaku City Actors, but they still should at least throw in some bizarrechitecture or headtilts just as a reminder that this is in fact a Shaft production and not, say, Studio Gokumi (one of the hack-iest studios out there IMHO). Was there even one headtilt in this episode? |

Huh, leave it to SHAFT to sexualize eating.
Anyway for something that I only had a tentative interest in the first episode was nice surprise. It's like a lot less over the top version of Shougeki no Soma, but still has it's own charms. I wouldn't mind watch more this. |
