Nice 1947 Martin 00-17! I'm really diggin your vintage gear! So According to the blog from the Japan's Fender company staff. It's an American Vintage '62 Jazz Bass most likely a reissue, an original would cost here a fortune

greetings

i've been looking for Yui's guitar tone around one year long and finally a found this thread

there is very easy way - just get VOX AmPlug Yui Hirasawa but i'm looking for complete stage/gigging tone, not just headphones or recording
tried some Marshall's - JCM900 head, MA50H, MG120DFX, JCM2000 2x12 combo. last one predrived w/ boss bd-2 digs nearly close but still there some lack of crunchy lows
basicly i need Don't Say Lazy / Cagayake!Girls / sweet bitter beauty song / Listen! guitar tone

Any ideas?

p.s. first post
p.s.2 non english, just some knowledge from language courses

The Yui VOX AmPlug can only reproduce a similar sound if it is channeled through a powerful amp. If you have one, I'd recommend plugging it into a Marshall amp (past 30 watts, if possible) for a clean tone.

You have a lot of guitars for someone so young. Or is it just the guitar that is #17, and not your 17th guitar.

Lol, I only have 4 guitars, sorry I phrased that wrong, (*fixed), but this Gibson is the 17th made of its kind so its serial is Number V1-17

Sumimasen...., just want to know Ritsu's Drum collection in: ED 1, 2, 3. Somebody already pointed out, it is an Absolute, But, I'm not sure (Well, I don't know if it is custom). And two drum sets at Mugi's villa on Ep 4 and Ep 10.

Also, I'd like to know what instruments "Death Devil" used? I remember Norimi's guitar shape, but I can't find it anywhere.

And, I found this:

Spoiler:

Yamaha SBV 500, Jun's bass

Spoiler:

So damn rare. My friend got frustrated over it xD

Norimi and the bass player for Death Devil are playing BC Rich guitars. Norimi is playing a Warlock and the bass is a Mockingbird.

Have you every tried to chase the sound through a AC30 or a Night Train, rather than just trying your luck with marshalls? To be honest even though they use marshall in the anime and manga, the actual sound from anime and CDs don't sound like it, imo.

It all depends on what instruments they are actually using for the recordings. The ones used in the manga/anime are quite high end, but there are even better alternatives that they might use, of course. Marshall also has both tube and valve amps, so it's impossible to rule them out entirely. They do have quite an "Orange/VOX" sound to me, in my opinion.

If you have a local music store that allows custom ordering, I'd ask them. If not, your best bet is to have one made from scratch to your specifications, but that would be costly. The problem is that you must either adjust to a larger size with finger stretching and just practicing in general, or build from scratch. In order to make my perfect Gibson Les Paul in a left-handed model, I have to save up over $6500. A cheaper, good bass could be made up for around $1000.

I recall trying my friend's BC Rich bass (which was huge) for the first time- it was ridiculous and I could barely reach the 2nd fret. This was way before I played guitar and doing finger stretches for them.

Azusa does not lie, those stretches do wonders. The spider walk technique isn't just for people with large hands- if you need to, jump your hand between strings. There are also many alternatives to playing a note, so if need be you could slide to the same note on a lower string.

If you're willing to get a bass off Ebay, there's always a good selection of short scale basses there.
