They could be Slei, either. That isn't a strange name as I have seen them several time in Japanese games before.

One can only hope, I loved Vesperia to bits and a lot of it was because of Yuri. Strong male leads(and then grow even more through the story) are sadly rare nowadays, although we don't know if "Slay" is the typical angsty teenager type

Completely agreed. I absolutely refuse to use him without an alternate costume. Luckily, it's almost guaranteed that there will be a pre-order costume, since that's how they roll nowadays. If not, I'll pay the $3 to get one off DLC.

By the way, anyone else notice his shawl is basically a 100% match to Colette's shawl?

The way I described it to my friend, it's like they took the designs of Jude, Guy, Cless and Luke and mashed it all together in a blender. The result being...not very pretty

That Colette-ish costume too....ugh...it's probably the first time in a game I want to switch out with another outfit as fast as I can.

And Alicia's like them honing in on the Milla/Judith archtype that went over so well with the crowd.

Never played so I can't say. But plot sounds pretty much like every Abyss-styled Tales of game for past, what 5 years? I wish we got something inthe vein of Legendia again in terms of fairly original story concept except you know... good.

Go Shiina coming back to shake things up again wouldn't hurt either.

Looks he just took an earlier design, added some parts and changed the hair and accessories to me. Don't get me wrong, I like the end product overall, but seems kinda of lazy to me at same time.

Problem is, they went in the Asbel direction with male protagonists.

I think the disease of reusing same model in tales games (e.g : monsters) started to plague the character design too

Nothing wrong with reusing the same monsters. It's only an issue when it's a color swap.

Reusing monsters, be it color swap or not, is fine if they actually add a decent number of new monsters too, which is actually not the case you can say for recent Tales games.
