Jurassic World [Jurassic Park IV]
This news is a bit late, but I think some of you may be interested. I decide to make a thread of this since I grew up with Jurassic Park franchise and love it . Quote:

I thought Spielberg (who produces the franchise) and his entourage (Joe Johnston included) had let go of JP4 after Michael Crichton passed away... Not sure what to think of this.
Anyway, there were some rumors and concept pics flying around a couple weeks/months ago, Spoiler:

While I'm hopeful I'm also dissapointed. I mean sure it could turn out like Jurassic Park 3 where it wasn't all that great but an entertaining flick or even as good as the first one. But with so much time having passed and how movies have changed I can't help but feel it'll just turn out like all the other additions to franchises that have long been finished; a subpar somewhat awful movie when stacked up against the rest. I have my hopes up considering the staff working on it, so I'm not completely let down until i see an actual trailer.
I just don't understand this obssession with getting more out of franchises that have been long over and really don't need another addition. *sigh* whatever, I'll probably go see it anyways.

The source material has been used up (and squeezed dry beyond its limits with 3), so my hopes for it having a well-crafted plot are pretty low.
I also think the prehistoric creatures bit could be put towards other time periods for novelty... giant sea scorpions, anyone? |

I am honestly more excited for the re-release of the first one in 3D, assuming that they actually put work into the 3D that could be a very good experience.
The new Jurassic Park is a little iffy, the biggest question is what is left for them to really expand upon? How about a story like "the dinosaurs escaped the island by riding on prehistoric sharks and are now attacking Tokyo and it is up to the power rangers to save the day!", now that would be interesting They will always find a way kind sir, that is Hollywood's specialty.
