Why not just order your books from Amazon? Or the Barnes & Noble website?

I suppose it could be because these books are not affected by the passage of time, and the used condition seems to imply that you are keeping a treasure. Sorry I am rambling off here K thanx bye.
I've read almost everything involving Poirot, but unfortunately, the majority of them were library books, so I do not OWN a decent collection of Christie's books. It's the collector in me, I have to have physical copies >>
And rambling? Not at all. Or, rather, if that was rambling it certainly didn't bother me. I like how you phrased the underlined portion.

Well, I've finished "The Green Child" (and subsequently discovered a Plant Girl fetish), and am about to break open "No Longer Human"- as well as the aforementioned bottle of Jäger. Which means, sadly, that all articulate comments will end here.

I'll leave the both of you with a piece of advice: Used book stores as well as antique store's can be literary treasure troves for those with a sharp eye.

Oh my, if I claimed to be both we'd have an intriguing case of gender confusion. However, when it comes to literary companionship, that wouldn't even matter.

I've definitely done so before, but in-store I found several deals that weren't available online. Since I'm not exactly a broken ATM, I just take any opportunities I can and reread books I have over and over. It's better to actually pick up a book in store first and sampling it before buying too, in my opinion.

For those living in the UK, you can try this website:

http://www.thebookpeople.co.uk/webap...051&langId=100

It's seriously dirt cheap, especially when you buy in bulk. It's even cheaper than Oxfam!

I'll also add The Book Depository to the list. It's not as cheap as it once was but it does have free worldwide shipping and pretty decent prices.

I just got this from them on the mail actually:

Ai Takahashi's graduation single, Aika's first single, and Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance (no matter how stupid this song is, I can repeatedly play it for hours...).

Just bought the Humble Music Bundle.

I impulse bought it when I saw it had a Jonathan Coulton Greatest Hits and a Best Of the Valkyria Chronicles OST but on closer inspection the Christopher Tin album is pretty neat as well (and it even has a song with Lia which caught me completely off-guard)

found this in a Habitat For Humanity store for $10. not much info about it when i googled the model except it was the last true 2 channel ES receiver sony produced and costed about $1000 in 1990. this thing is about the same age as me! and it still works after some 20 years. talk about vintage audio gear!

How does that monitor perform? Is it a true 8-bit IPS panel or a 6-bit eIPS panel? Is it 1920x1200?

I've been curious about it ever since it launched after I already bought my Dell U2412M (which is a 6-bit eIPS panel).

248q uses an 8-bit e-ips panel. the 246q used p-ips which explains why the 248q costs less than its predecessor.

the 248q also has 1:1 scaling for 4:3 and 16:9 unlike the 24" dell IPS monitors. and yes it is 1920x1200.

also /jelly of alchemist007s keyboard.

Yeah, the fact that it's a lower costing 8-bit and covered by a 3 yr warranty by Asus (who make quality products), it's basically the best thing anyone can get without shelling out some ridiculous amount. The only risk in getting it was that it's a newer model so user reviews are only just coming out, which of course are all positive so far. The only issue was the backlight bleed which actually gets significantly subdued after a week of use. It's crazy not to get this 1200p for $340!

The keyboard is also pretty sweet. Just had to use something extra to prop up the back since I'm used to such elevation and the included hinges were useless.

Bought a couple of old films on cheap here :-

Didn't get Heat on blu because I heard the HD transfer wasn't that good. But might consider upgrading if I happen to like the movie enough after 1 or 2 viewings.

Kudos to those who manage to see the somewhat loose links between all 3 films.

LG E1941 for $78 as a second monitor for my gaming rig.

It's main purpose at the moment is to display the DayzDB map for loot locations. XD

Out of game it constantly monitors my Xfire and TeamSpeak channels.
