Yet another dumb poll... with a twist.
Quickly glancing through one of the other poll threads, I saw someone mention that most of the big Tessa fans watched the dub first. Now that I think about, that wouldn't surprise me. Tessa's Japanese VA is nothing that stands out to me, while Hilary Haag has one of the cutest voices in the American anime industry. The voice can make all the difference in how a character is portrayed. I really hope that Funimation manages to get the original English dub's VA cast... at least both ADV and Funimation are headquartered in Texas, so that'll help in the negotiations between Funimation and FMP's original dub cast.
I'm a Tessa fan, and I saw the dub first. Tessa > Chidori in both versions though. Competent leader chicks with ditzy/goofy sides are amongst my favorite types of anime girls, while I've never had a big thing for girls that have a tendency to get violent. |

i saw the sub ( hates dubs ) and my fav chara has always been tessa when compared with chidori...
i like someone who i can protect and care for (tessa) instead of getting beaten up by random objects (chidori) but i wont mind if i get both...

I agree with you about Tessa's dub voice actually. Her japanese voice for some reason really gets on my nerves. FMP just happens to be one of the few animes that I've seen the dub version of and it's surprisingly not that bad.
But I still like Chidori better than Tessa, and I originally started watching the sub. |

I agree that newer dubs are better (I actually saw the FMP dub on On Demand from the Anime Network), but it is a bit irritating how they sometimes pause inappropriately in order to match their mouths with the words, so I always watch subs if I can. I have seen dubs for GitS, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, and Full Metal Alchemist and would definitely say the Japanese seiyuu are better, but the English version is done pretty well (as opposed to Inuyasha, Naruto, or anything by 4Kids).
I suppose I really like Kaname (dub) because Satsuki Yukino is one of my favorite seiyuu, and because she's not helpless and fawning over Sousuke like Tessa does. Mao is awesome, but doesn't get enough screen time for me to bond with her. |

hard choice between Tessa dub and Chidori Sub.
I can't stand Chidori dub.. The voice doesn't fit the character.. her dub soudns like she's... white(not racist, but she sounds like she's picking up on that cheerleader act) Tessa dub is perfect though It fits the character perfectly. But as a Kaname lover. I like Kana's sub better! o and btw. Berserk has the best DUB(or one of them) the outtakes crack me up nasty. [if uve seen it.. "da da da da da da da BATMAAANNN!!!!" ] |

Yeah, I'll support the FMP dubs. Sousuke, Tessa and Chidori are doing a very good job. Since I think Chidori and Tessa are good in the dub, I'll pick Tessa, since she's my favorite character and the english dubs seem actually better than the original.

Other than the fact Dubbers are below par with Seiyu , Tessa'ss voice in sub sounds angellic makes you fall in love with her voice . I am reffering to the scene where Sagara drowns and Tessa tires to kiss him I mean revive him . Sagara wakes up and says " Yes I and Tessa have a special relationship " . I am talking about Tessa reaction to that statement

AAawwwwwww gaaaawwd, you have no idea how much it made my ears bleed. Almost every dubs dating pre 2000 was like cutting my ears off. So I kinda understand why people have this prejudice. My poor ears.... I agree he was quite good. For FMP I watched the English dubs from the dvds first before I watched the Japanese ones(I think...). I can say honestly, the English Sousuke gave me a feel of his character the Japanese one couldn't top. But for the other characters, especially side characters, their original Japanese counterparts were superior. And I liked the voice of the original Tessa the best Even more than the English Sousuke. edit:Oh, I didn't realize there was a thread necromancy going on |

I like to play BOTH when possible. Dub and Sub, and then compare the results. But I like Chidori dubbed....and Kyoko. Kyoko is really cute dubbed. Hmm, maybe I should have chosen "other" |

Yep that my opnion I am entitled to one, IMO those dubbers should get real jobs . I have veiwed both and after seeing the orignal it was torture to watch dubs , maybe I associate the seiyu with resp characters .
