You can try and put him in a good light but still, koi's father is a shitty father.

episode 1:

oh, so it's a fishing + cooking cgdct anime. Feels better already than other fishing anime I've seen.

of course, you don't throw a hook at people.. could cause serious injuries.

I've come to the conclusion this is one of those cute girls doing... things shows that just don't click with me. I don't know, it feels it's missing something. I still have an enjoyable time every week, but I'll have forgotten about it as soon as it finishes airing.

Kids will be kids, they can say mean thing without knowing how hurtful it can be. Futaba friend looks like Koi, so I believe she won't say anything about Futaba fishing.

To be honest, I'm not expecting any undergraduate philosophy or psych papers on Slow Loop here: this is one of those shows where it's appropriate to just kick back and enjoy the ride.

where Futaba never had a friend of her age to fish with, if Koi didn't ask ichika to bring her as help, she'll never had the enjoyable of fishing with other girls

At the outset Slow Loop looked like it might go into some less-explored areas like issues faced by blended families. It seems to have left all that behind and become a pretty standard CGDCT show. These episodes are entertaining enough, but the opportunity for something more seems to be slipping away. Whatever complexities might have arisen in the sudden relationship between Hiyori and Koharu rarely appear.

That's pretty much standard for Manga Time Kirara series: they tend to meander in the middle and if they choose to touch on the heavier stuff, it's in the last two episodes or so.

Not much happened we met a new fish and a new character, well the "get a clue, penguins!" joke was funny.

Looking foward to the next chapter, it seems futaba friend joins the party.

I had mahi-mahi when I was in Hawaii and recall liking it. Not very common here in Boston.

episode 5:

glad to see that Futaba has some fishing companions now. Nothing wrong playing with the boys, and certainly nothing wrong with a girl who likes fishing.

food looks delicious as always.

Back out on the ocean but this time with Ryouta and he was really helpful and not just engrossed in fishing

Koharu & Hiyori looked so cute sleeping like that

Ichika & Miyano looks like they have a love/hate relationship need more of this,

hope Koharu pay close attention on how to cook that fish

and Hiyori was right about people eating food either warm(spring/summer)
and cold(autumn/winter) seasons

I was a bit surprised none of the girls were wearing life jackets. I was especially concerned for Koharu since I don't think she knows how to swim despite her arrival in episode one. She certainly hasn't swum in an ocean before given how excited she was to see it for what seems like the first time.

Now that you mention it, they should have worn some. Why do you think Koharu doesn't know how to swim though? She has a school swimsuit so she's definitely attended classes before.

Ocean swimming is a lot different from swimming in a pool. Koharu's enthusiasm upon seeing the ocean suggests she hasn't swum in an ocean.

But yes, I probably overgeneralized to thinking she can't swim at all.
