I interpret this as two things. First whenever we have a 1 we remove it.
Or, any numbers greater than 5 will be reduced, perhaps by one.
Supposing Rocksmash is on the right track (which i think he is) We have 22461. That would mean : 22451 or by my first interpretation 22460 - This is incorrect because someone else guessed it.

So my guess is.

I also think rocksmash is on the right track, but I want to wait for a hint until I begin guessing. Some of my thoughts:

The culprit is probably a female (hence princess; im thinking in the line that the princess is the culprit)
Possibly a moderator, as she has a 'big sword' to cleave away at the enemies (evil-doers of AS). Or at least someone who can drive people away with her big mouth/sword. So the culprit has many posts.
She's been a member for 6 years or more.
"The sword is broken" so its been a while since she last posted.
I'm not sure, but "there was an end" refers to the end of old AS forum? So the pricess is someone who wasn't from the old AS forum, thus anyone who registered sometime close to the opening of this AS forum is not the culprit.
I think the 'five kingdom' is crucial but I can't think anything that might go with it.
Also, the picture... there is a hand pointing to the apple.. not too sure what to make of it other than search it, but haven't found anything noteworthy, yet.

Since the princess is a midget, I figured their post count should be low, but with high rep (fat sword), and not necessarily reflecting on their user status (mod or otherwise).

Well I don't think that picture is important. Because when you click it it links to another picture where the apple is a sad vegetable...Actually there are 5 differences between the pictures...one is vegetable...5 differences = 5 kings? I'm confused.

I made it 100% from scratch, so professor layton fans (along with the rest of the Internet for that matter) don't know anything more then you do. Just to be clear, all you need to solve the riddle is posted by Kairin in the thread, and there's no obscure reference to professor layton—the image could have belonged to any other source. I don't think NW would actually accept riddles that use anything more then common knowledge & knowhow to solve; at best, as you say, there might be anime references (of popular anime).
