wait... isn't Benelli's M3 that humble looking shotgun?
guess M4A1 and M16A4 are.... also sisters but dont get along that well? also, will the guy ever use a girl there? basing IMO, FAL is probably one of the most.. err... user-friendly guns dealt.

and I dunno if the author saw the ARX 160 by beretta or AR70/90 for that matter.

Well someone was nice enough to upload the latest (translated) chapters of Upotte and Upotte Nano in the usual places.
In Upotte: - Yep, the manga version of the Atami shootout was SO MUCH BETTER. Ugh, damnit. - Huh, so Sensei isn't Japanese? That's a surprise. - Heh, the prodigal sister makes a quick appearance. Must be awkward for her being the only HK sister with cat ears... - Man the Russian colonel sure is a big douche. Okay, he has a point in a way, but it's kind of iffy bringing real-world logic (that tools only have purpose when used, which in case of the guns is to kill people) in a universe where weapons have human personifications. - AK47 being subservient was... a surprise. - Not surprising how things are being set up so Sig and the Dragunov will have a rivalry. - So Bizon is a bit of a trouble-maker huh? Riling all the grade-schoolers like that. Also LOL at Steyr's sister thinking she's a big embarrassment. In Upotte Nano: - So we finally meet Benelli M3. So explain to me again how a Shotgun put in the same grade as Assault Rifles again? - Steyr being Steyr, as usual. Kind of surprised to find out that both she and Tei are on the student council. - And yes, OBVIOUSLY they completely forget about Elle.

if M3 is there, then most shotguns including Saiga 12k are middle schoolers themselves. and here I thought that AUG's sister would be the AUG para. I've heard BS about the PP19 BIZON matching up to AR's but I dunno if its true.

Okay, so while the translated scans still haven't sort of caught up, we're seeing how eventsin Nano cross over into the main series, and vice versa again, in this case G3 getting left behind because she switched with Mimi for a day, and as a result had to attend remedials because Mimi scored poorly for her in her test.
So, the girls go to Enoshima! We're introduced to Beretta AR-70/90, and SPAS-12, the latter the THIRD shotgun we've been introduced to (after Benelli M3 in Nano and Saiga) in the story. Oh, and apparently they go to a normal public school. How does that work out? And, hmm, AR-70/90 seems to be giving FNC the cold shoulder. Anyone here who has a knowledge of firearm history know why? Also LOL Tari-Tari reference. No wonder Funco was confused. P.S. Who's the HK sister with the headband again?

Benelli M3: It has a semi-automatic version, which is probably why it can be placed in the assault rifle category since it is a combat shotgun. |

Nah, combat shotgun is a catagory itself. Despite combat shotgun usually semi-automatic, but it still lack requirements to become assault rifle: effective range is low, smoothbore (while rifle is mean rifling barrel), full-automatic (at least) and burst mode.
She is HK G41.

Yu Ominae: Really? That's too bad, but hopefully it doesn't languish for long.
Incidentally, just how far behind are we on both the main series and Nano? Since the Enoshima chapter references freaking Tari-Tari, it's likely not as far... I hope. Panzerklein: Thanks. I noticed that she was also named in Nano (where she had a talk with Mimi, post-swap with G3). Sumeragi: Still doesn't quite explain why all three shotguns are Middle-schoolers though. Are 12-gauge rounds similar to 5.56mm rounds?

Maybe those shotguns are bigger, heavier than sub-machinegun but their range is low, that why they are mid-schoolers. I only don't know which class of machinegun, high-schooler or college/university student like RPK-74.
