Emotionless Characters

It's such a weird niche that seems out of place but for some reason I love it and I'm wondering if there's a lot more like the one's I've seen. To give you an idea these are some of the characters that I think of.

Hei-Darker Than Black
Yukihira-Noucome
Hakuya-Mikakunin de Shinkoukei
Yuki Nonoka-Shinmai Maou no Testament

Are names I can think of off the top of my head as examples. Something about emotionless characters gets to me. When they tell a joke with a straight face, albeit most of the time a really bad one or when they show emotion at a rare time, that's what generally makes me feel more for that character. That and most of the time they're pretty badass

P.S I don't really specify a genre but if possible action is good or a comedy with some romance (not over the top)

A classic emotionless character in my opinion is Nagato Yuki from the Suzumiya Haruhi franchise.

And yes - she is about as OP as they come, too.

The anime adaptation of the source novels is mostly comedic, but it has plenty of serious moments as well - although the infamous "Endless 8" run may make you want to break things.

(The recent "Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan" adaptation is quite different, by the way, and a literary spin off of the Suzumiya Haruhi novels - it would not really fit the bill for what you are looking for in the thread itself.)

Aldnoah.Zero - You don't get much more emotionless than Inaho.

Nagi no Asukara - For Tsumugu

I also 2nd Flower's The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya recommendation, for Yuki Nagato

One title came to my mind on top of anything else:
Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom.

Nozaki in Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun has some great deadpan moments.

Gotou Hidenori is often pretty emotionless which is a useful quality when dealing with wannabe super hero Hazama Masayoshi in Samurai Flamenco.

Kobushi Abiru - Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei

Very stoic unless she's talking or dealing with animals.

Naru from Ghost Hunt might work, though he might come off more as an ass at first then emotionless

I guess you could count some characters from Claymore. Clare is not the most talkative one, Irene is quiet stotic as well.

As far as I remember, Lulu Bell was emotionless one is D.Gray Man but she appears much later in the series and has slightly limited screen time.

Naru from Ghost Hunt should be to your liking. It is ghost series but really good and Naru has stoic face for biggest part of the series. Kinda reminds me of Hei

Oreki from Hyouka, not exactly emotionless but he is so lazy he could care less about anything. Slice of life series.

Homura from Madoka Magica.

Gowther from Nanatsu no Taizai suits the bill if you want action and comedy. He has no emotions whatsoever and can read minds, so yeh...

Ein from Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom, series are slightly similar to DTB

Shiina Mashiro from Sakurasō no Pet na Kanojo, great comedy with some romance.

Aika from Zetsuen no Tempest, she is not exactly emotionless but she has particular view on things. She is dead from get go but appears in lots of flashbacks and whole series kinda revolve around her.

Samurai Flamenco seemed pretty interesting so I started on that. Got to say I loved it until it turned into a typical superhero anime with the power ranger setting :/

EDIT: I didn't refresh page but now that I did ermahgerd the number of replies :O

I'm going to take the time to watch each of these series individually and thank each one of you for giving me so many to watch then I'll tell you what I think of them all starting with the one above ^

Yep I remember this series simply because of the Endless 8... It hurt my brain and made me want to tear chunks of hair out of my head.

Nagi no Asukara... watched episode 1 and I'm enraptured by the plot and setting. Although I feel like this will not end well for at least one character

Inaho, Inaho, Inaho. You can't get more badass than him at times. Also the jokes/random things he says sometimes have cracked me up so many times XD

EDIT 2: Bit Further in on Nagi no Asukara... I knew it, this anime is not good for my health and my heart, it's such a rollercoaster of feels T_T

Like everything else in Samurai Flamenco, that, too, shall pass.

Jotaro Kujo from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders. Hell, he even defeats one of his enemies, using the power of poker face.

Do you literally want a series with "emotionless" characters? Or are "characters who are unable to/bad at express(ing) their emotions" and/or "characters who can suppress their emotions" OK as well?

All of the above I prefer the second a little bit more because of comedic value but either way I dig it

Admittedly, I haven't watched the anime itself, and I understand that changed a lot of things, but why hasn't Tatsuya from Mahouka koukou no Rettousei been mentioned yet? One of the most emotionless characters there is, as well as being insanely OP.
