I happen to like Tenchi in Tokyo! I like it better than Tenchi Universe (of course, it's still good), and it's my third favorite series, after the first two OAVs. For most people, it's the Batman Forever of the Tenchi series. |

the tenchi muyo tokyo is another parallel works though it might have been after the universe but the story is a bit different. Like the meetings and stuff.
All the 3 movies of tenchi muyo are from the universe branch and a bit of ryo-ohki. Because on movie 2 tenchi unleash the light hawk wings and his jurai suit but in movie 1 he only use the sword though the time frame might explains it. But the movies are more adapted from the universe. |

I would say that Daughter of Darkness is set in its own continuity, but based on the OAV novels.
And I'll admit that while Universe was good, it's The Ryoko Show. Finally, don't forget Pretty Sammy, which like Tenchi, has three separate canons: *Pretty Sammy OAV *Magical Project S *Sasami: Magical Girls Club |

Throughout the show, other AIC characters that have cameo appearances include Rio and Yuji from Burn Up W and Photon, as well as Pretty Sammy and Pixy Misa (Magical Project S version). |

Dual would probably the past but it's not confirmed. But in the last episode of Dual the guy decided to go to space and in tenchi muyo. Azusa the king of jurai. His father has the same name as the guy in dual. Though the unit in dual and the one in gxp are also the same.
El hazard is different from tenchi muyo. |

From what I can recall, it is the first OVA, Universe, Tokyo, and the films. I wonder how Tokyo and Universe are going to be released. I own the original box set for Universe and recall the 8 DVDs going by the first and last containing 4 episodes while the rest was just 3. Well, anyway it was nice to hear that they go rescued to be re-released. Now if they can get Dual! then I can be content.

^ Cool to hear. A quick question, but was Tokyo ever released as a box set or was the series released as singles? I recall the OVA had a Special Edition release and Univerise had it's own box set release. I never saw a box set for Tokyo and only saw the single DVDs for that series.
