Soooo...I'm nostalgia tripping on Dragonball Kai right now. I just watched the episode where Gokue and Vegeta fuse up to fight Buu. I'm getting pretty close to the end and def going to watch the new DB stuff once I finish Kai.

But I heard the first few episodes of Super are a retelling of the "Battle of Gods" movie. And then for some episodes after that it's a retelling of "Resurrection F" movie.

So here's the question: which is better!
Watch Super and skip the movies?
Or watch the movies and skip the "retelling eps" of Super??
Or watch the movie then the retelling??? So many choices...

I would watch the movie, though the fight against Beerus in super is worth checking out.

I would watch the movies first and then Super. Movies for the better animation, Super for the added content.

This episode just confirm which goku is without any doubts the WORST PARENT EVER IN THE WORLD AND EVEN MORE CRAP GRANDPA, he don't do a shit toward pan, while gohan and satan are good parents the only thing in goku mind is fight even Vegita is a better parent than goku, this really make me think about how must be terrible the childrens life in japan since this is a common trop in anime/manga/novel have fathers which are almost every time away from they childrens too much focused on work and less in being a "father".

It's a shame they skipped Vegeta's training. He's presumably at the same level as Goku now, since Whis said it was around the right time to bring him in.

i understand your concern in the past (Dragon ball Z) Goku himself actually uuuh a bad father for young Gohan not as abuser or something he just did not know how to handle a kid, how to be proper father which result to Chichi always mads over him
he even did not understand the meaning of marriage when Chichi offered him "lets get married"
as Chichi said he is battle maniac only think nothing beside battle but he eventually would grew as good grandpa in the end of DBZ he and Pan has very close grandpa-grandchild relationship
he taught Pan how to flight and fight and Pan herself also happy
overall Goku is good father and grandpa only he lack of awareness about how be a proper family head

It's like saying a Body Builder 2 time champion should stop doing Body Building because he got married or something.

Personally, I really REALLY hate Chichi's shit... she's basically one of those monster parents that most people hate. too high up on getting her kids something she wants instead of what they want...

Unfortunately that's basically been her character the entire time. I still think you could basically count Chichi as a top notch villain in the entire show. After all she managed to basically ruin the most powerful character in the show and constantly prefers the world get annihilated than having the people around her do something about it.

Now I get the point about a need to create living funds, that's well and good. Nothing wrong with making a point on the need to make sure they can get by. Giving an opportunity for her kids to find their way would be a smooth maneuver. Sadly....reasonable never fit in her vocabulary.

The problem is which in the new time line that goku being a good grandfather don't happened anymore that was dragon ball GT, now goky goes back to his old self "selfcentered jerk", and it's not was just gohan but also goten, goten born after goku died and he never wanted come back to life and never tried to see his kid like gohan he skipped a lot of goten baby to little kid phase and only get to him later when he already on the "traning age", the same for pan goku gonna train forgetting his family.

Basically goku is the father which only is present when the "crap" phase end and the mother needed to deal with that alone.

That was something i aways hated in dragon ball, the romance of goku and chichi was totally forced where goku never really showed any signal of having feelings for her and just accepted because he had made a promise while was a little children because he think which marriage was about "food", even after the marriage we never saw goku showing any signs of really loving chich i can easy see he cheating on her or leave his family if a hot chicken appear and offer him a way to become the strongest man in the universe but he must marry her in trade, I can easy picture goku accepting it without need thinking 2 times.

Romance in DB was really terrible and is not really Toryama strength, the most close to a romance was buma and vegita which somehow he managed to did a lot better than goku and chichi, which was more like a excuse to give goku a "son".

The only thing which can make us believe which he like chichi is the fact which he obey her whenever they are not in danger and he still alive and not need a train otherwise he is the type of easy leave his family behind without think 2 times.
