Coal?! How could Kimbly betray Greed by putting a piece of coal into a sack :S (FMA#33 21:15-21:23) ? I think it's the skull that Greed locked away so carefully (FMA#31 18:40-18:50). The missing skull of that skeleton (FMA#34 12:15-12:25). And when Greed died it shattered into pieces (FMA#34 20:17- 20:33).

I thought it was Archer but due to the events shown in episode 34, I now rule out that possibility.

Greed's death is indeed a lost. He at least was decent, a 1000-times more so than Envy.

And still the Elrics have affairs to be concerned, for example, Lyra's whereabouts and their quest for the Philosopher's Stone.

lyra seems very suspicious, especially when greed was shocked to see her do that seal thing and when he had that "oh no it's my creator" kind of look on his face. plus, dante can't be that weak to die? plus, greed was sealed for 140 years, lust mentioned that the one that is unhappy with greed resides at dantes mansion, suspicious, suspicious...

i suspected that the lyra that tried to kill or may be seal Greed was Envy
or may be Lyra could be "Pride" ?

and if Greed is sealed for 140 years.... that would made Dante at least 140 years old too !!

I think people are missing some things. Here's all my thoughts.

Spoiler:

1) Dante made Greed and knew where the bones were outside the skull. Of note, it seems the other Sins did not know where they were, otherwise Envy would not of threatened to find Greed's skull and probably used something else to seal him. She thusly knew where his original body was, since she had to perform it on something.

2) Dante was killed by Lust after being forced to make the circle for Greed if you ask me. The girl was Envy. This is further suggested given it was planned, and Lust and Gluttony did not pursue Greed into the house. They knew he would die. Also, Dante said she would never see Izuma again, as if she knew she would die. If she would swap bodies, she would be able to talk to her again, right?

Another theory is indeed that Dante can perform soul transmutations, manifested in the girl, and is in reality allied with the Sin's leader/Hoenheim. She did seem to be fairly sinister at least in the past, and knew many things. If she could, theoretically Hoenheim could as well, which could explain how he has lived so long. Not sure which boat I'm in right now.

3) The fight with Greed did seem odd with Greed's power level prior. But it's important to note in the presence of the bones he had power sapped, and his regeneration factor was also removed by coughing up the proto-stone which dissolved. He seemed as if he didn't care if he died, given he could of told Ed he didn't kill Dante. Maybe regret?

4) Greed simply turned his skin into diamond carbon via his 'self buff'. Diamond carbon is very, very hard. Edward then transmuted it into pencil carbon, which as anyone who has a mechanical pencil knows is very flimsy, moreso if it's only skin thick.

5) Archer just seems to be someone who wants a Chimera army, and knew of Basque Gran's research. Not anything more. He knew of the skull from Kimbly. If you notice, the bones on the table where Greed was had no skull.

Just my two cents and analyzing. And also, of course...

And was Greed evil? Yes. He was a complete independent, who only really cared about himself. But he wasn't really a treacherous backstabber either -- He seemed the type who would use subordinates as true allies, not pawns. After all, he would be greedy for companions also, right? The whole point of greed is having everything in the world, and that does include good friends...

i thought in this episode, at one point lust and gluttony indicated that envy transformed into archer... so.. archer riding around in the carriage next to kimbly with the bag of stones.. it's envy.

is it that the alchemic circle that forces greed to vomit the p.stones, and the p. stones that provide homunculi with regen abilities and immortality?

then what's the point of the bones? still if homunculi are weak, they'll still be hard, if not, impossible to kill with their regen abilities?

is the whole bones/weakness thing in the manga?

and i don't quite get why lust in the spoon version says, "my, isn't sloth quite the slave-driver?"

I always thought Greed was a bad guy, but really, he was a good guy. He cared for his comrades and seemed to like Ed, he even helped him. Shame he died.

I think Lyra is Pride. Lyra could've been Pride and worked for Dante to gain access to Greed's bones. Dante created him, after all.

There should also be a new Greed, going on what Lust said about being the current Lust. That'll be interesting.

Frank Archer is NOT Envy considering Archer has internal dialogue with himself which has Archer speaking, and not Envy speaking which we saw happened when Envy was the Fuhrer and it was Envy's voice during the internal dialogue . Next Archer merely wants power and Tucker to make Chimeras for him, so he is basically like the new Basque Grand in a way, ambition wise Now with the Lyra issue. No Envy was not Lyra :P For one Lyra was an apprentice alchemist living under Dante, formerly serving under Yoki. I'm assuming Dante invited her in as her apprentice cuz she saw Lyra as a potential host body for herself Lyra or should I say the reborn Dante Plays the role of Lyra when Greed busts in so that she could lead him into a trap. Once she shows Greed the killed Dante and his bones, Greed gets suspicious and then Lyra snickers and unleashes the dual alchemy circles' power. Now Envy can't be Lyra considering Homunculus can't use alchemy, and for sure not such high level alchemy at that We see Dante torn asunder (literally) probably to fake her own death, because as was said in ep 33 she whispered/said to herself that she and Izumi would not meet again, which means she knew she was going to "die". Greed sees Lyra perform the high level alchemy and can't believe such a young girl knows how to perform such high level alchemy, but then says "Could it be..." all the while in the background Dante's theme music is playing (sweet music at that ) Dante's alchemy circle being made on the bottom and the top of the room made me think of the Philosopher's Stone alchemy circle Ed made, but instead of making a Philosopher's Stone, Dante's Circle had the adverse effect and made Greed throw up his "proto philosopher's stones" which then proceeded to disintegrate upon touching the alchemy circle on the ground. Thus I think its an Anti-Philosopher's Stone Alchemy Circle of sorts Anyways to summarize Envy isnt in either of eps 33-34, Dante performed a soul transfer to Lyra's body similar to Orochimaru in Naruto haha, powerful Dante style alchemy circle/array debut, Archer is Archer, and Ed knows the secret to killing Homunculus now thanks to Greed (Would have been cool if Greed joined forces with Ed instead, or for that matter if there was one "good" homunculus out there I'm still hoping for

the Fuhrer to be Pride and hopefully that "good" homunculus and unleash the ownage upon the rest of the homunculus

In my opinion, I don't think dante knew she was going to die. She said "I won't see you again" to Izumi more in a cold hatred way instead of a sad way. And, doesn't it seem odd that Lyra could perform the seal? And especially when Greed questioned how Lyra could perform something that powerful? And then he suddenly gasped? Also, isn't it suspicious that a teacher of the powerful izumi died so easily? And Lyra did not?

Dante was sliced in half, it would seem like Lust, but I thought she pierces her opponents rather than slice them..

does the number red-stones eaten by homunculus can depend on the degree of strength? as in, the more stones eaten, the stronger he is?

or, if all the stones are vomited out from a sin, will he become a homounculus [not a sin] again? since wrath become a sin after eating the stones...

if a homunculus is weaken if they're near their bones, how to defeat wrath?! lust took the REMAINS of him and perform the human transmutation!! [if my third point is wrong]

if a sin has 'died', will its alchemist get back their body parts [or organs]?

Well acording to A**'s sub, Greed said "If we are faced with the bones of the human that failed to ressurect, we become paralysed". This would mean the bones of the person that failed in their attempts at alchemy.. at this moment in time there is no reason (that we know of anyway) for Dante to be killed.. unless the bones on the table were her's (it's may have just been the crappy art used for her daed body but it looked pretty flat to me), which would mean she created Greed all those years ago and thats the reason for him knowing who she is.

Why assume it's Dante that is Greed's creator and not Lyra? From the events that seems to make more sense to me. No mystical soul switching involved, just Dante either killed because she had to be or used as some sort of sacrifice. Lyra could easily be hiding her true power, plus it makes the whole 130+ years old thing more understandable since she seems to move around more. Dante's comment to Izumi could be explained by Dante having an idea of what was going on and her death a result of trying to stop Lyra.

About Lust commenting on Sloth the Slave Driver, that simply means that Sloth is organizing all this from afar, and she must have also organized the raid on Devil's Nest and had let Greed get away. And thus she got all the military going crazy and killing all the chimeras.

Idon't know what to think about the Dante / Lyra deal. I don't think Lyra IS Dante, because Greed would have definitely recognized her, Dante being his creator, and anyway she said she would never see Izumi again. I didn't hear any cold hatred in that statement, though; Dante sounded rather sad. So I think she knew she would get killed once and for all.

What's bothering me the most is this: why are the Elrics heading for Ishbal? My guess is that Ed recognized the huge transmutation circle on the floor of Dante's mansion as the one in the Central Fifth Laboratory, and he and Al probably pieced together that it's the same one as on Scar's arm... they probably see the connection and are heading for Ishbal. My first guess was that they're going there because it's where Lust's bones probably are, but they have no idea about Lust and Scar's brother, so that's wrong. The next few episodes WILL probably bring the demise of Lust in Ishbal.

And I was right about Gluttony being old-school. So Pride, Gluttony, Greed, and Envy are the old-school, while Wrath, Sloth, and Lust are all under 140 years old. As for Lust saying she was the new Lust, there must have been a different Lust (or no Lust) in Greed's time.
