So, I just saw the Broly trailer now (coz I hardly care for Dragon Ball anymore but you can't really avoid information about it if you follow anime news) and have read the comments in last page of this thread and *sigh*..........that's just what we need, more retcons. It's times like this that I feel grateful that I'm only a fan of the original Dragon Ball manga which ended at volume 42. You can't screw that up any further like Z, GT & Super did. I've been treating Dragon Ball anime as mere fluff to kill time when I have nothing better to do since DB (with kid Goku) and looks like it's working just fine for me. So yeah, bring on the bullshit, Broly movie. I'll eventually watch you on a boring or rainy day for amusement.

Yep, it had to be. Giving some more semblance of a backstory to Broly to try to make him less of a mindless, berserker badass hellbent on killing everything in his way. Dear goodness...

This trailer pretty much confirms Broly will survive this movie. It was doubtful they would kill him off after just one movie after finally making him canon in the first place.

They weren't kidding when they said Broly is the strongest enemy they ever faced. He looks to be on par with SSB in his "ikari" state (at the very least he's between SSG and SSB), and he's got two more transformations on top of that.

I wonder if Ultra Instinct will return . Or maybe they will unlock a new power . It looks like this Broly might be more powerful than Jiren

If they're going to "redeem" Broly this is the version to do it with since the information we've gotten about the movie not only seems to give a more sympathetic backstory, but also lacks the galaxy-wide list of victims the original Broly had.

I'm gonna split the difference and say, normally yes it would be necessary to explain origins of stuff, but, since this is DB we're talking about, and fighting is pretty much their eyecandy fapbait while not giving 2 shits about canon period, I'm gonna say it's also not necessary because, wow, kickass fighting artwork, who gives a crap about origins am I right?=almost every themed fighting animé ever

Broly is simply a freak. Although it would be be nice if they explain the Green/Legendary SS form in more detail.

Also I don't think he's owning SSG with just base, that's his "Ikari" form and he has green aura like LSS so it could just be a suppressed LSS mode.

Hakai Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2015 Age: 25	Some spoilers from people who saw the early premiere Spoiler for Dragon Ball Super: Broly: -Broly and Gogeta fighting was so intense they transported into some other dimension -Gogeta Blue dominated and Broly had to be saved by the green girl through Shenron's wish when Gogeta was about to finish him off(she teleported him to the planet where he grew up). -Goku said Broly might be stronger than Beerus in the end -Beerus wasn't interested in these stuff so Bulma had him babysit Bulla... -Broly vs Whis happens and Broly ends up punching the air while Whis keeps laughing -The fusion failed more than once so Veku/fat Gogeta and the skinny version also appeared -Frieza killed Broly's dad to turn him into a Super Saiyan, then got brutalised for more than an hour while Goku and Vegeta were trying to perfect fusion dance. -Frieza's current wish is... not immortality but he wants to get taller... -In the end Goku visits Broly on his planet and gives him foods, senzus and also a Capsule house. Movie ends with Broly warming up to Goku and smiling at him as Goku teleports away from Broly's planet -Goku calls himself Kakarot in the end, something like "I'm Son Goku, also known as Kakarot". -Also no Ultra Instinct, Blue Kaioken or Vegeta's Beyond/Royal/Evolution Blue(whatever you wanna call it).
