Is it unusual for a series to have a unique opening and ending for the first 3 episodes? I noticed that they had a unique opening for the first two episodes of this series, but didn't take over with a common beginning and ending till Episode 3? I've seen it before where the 1st episode will have something unique, then the rest become consistent after that, but this went until the 3rd episode before they came up with any kind of consistent ending. Or am I just seeing things?

Well, I think that the first 2 eps were just introductory eps. The real story only really starts at episode 3 don't you feel?

I guess they just didn't want to spoil anything in the op/ed.

Mostly because the usual OP/ED they use now will give away the surprise element. And actually I think they used the ED song in 2nd episode perfectly with the scenes in the hospital.

As a FYI, the OP in the game appears after Haruka's accident. I guess they wanted to do the same in anime too.

It just goes to show how well this anime was made.

I tried listening to the mp3 of Rumbling Hearts (the ED song of ep.2), and honestly, it's not that dramatic a song if you just listen to it on its own.

BUT, every time I listen to it at the end of ep.2, I get this 'sick', sinking feeling, because of the scene that it was combined with.

Ep.2 is still my favourite, and one of the reasons is because of the way RH was put into the ending.

Definately true. The music by itself isn't all that great, but the way it's teamed up with the animation is awesome.
