Good question.
In any case, for a fan-made project it was really well done! They even managed to recruit professional VA (and notorious ones) for all the roles! I'm impressed. And as a Touhou fan, I'm delighted as well. |

It was way too short. Just when I was into it, and they give me the "to be continue" .
Not that great, but at least it's on a good rating for me. Animation is acceptable (I got used to watching those 90s' anime after all). Background is gorgeous. Characters' personality is, well, a little bit off, I feel, but consider it's a doujin product, it's fine with me. The BGM isn't a problem, I guess, because the slow pace (which I like), the BGM is kind of fitting. The plot works as usual, because it sounds silly as all most of ZUN's works. Now if it's not a doujin work, but a proper anime instead, I bet they can't use this kind of plot without feeling afraid of audience's reaction. I'd give it a C if it's on the current anime standard rating. B+ instead if seeing it's as a doujinshi. Finally, on a 2nd watch through, I can point a finger at what's been bothering me. That's Sakuya. I don't feel her voice fits her character, and she doesn't give me the elegant maid image which I always thought she is. Okay, it's good. Now where is my Flandre that you mentioned, Patchy?

I thought Sakuya was ok.
On the other hand Marisa's personality felt off, in my opinion. Her VA is fine, but she sounded lazier/annoyed than I was expecting her to be. Although she talks like a male and speaks unpolitely, I was expecting her to be a little more genki, a little more energetic. The pacing is fine for me, I've always thought that Touhou would be perfect as a slice-of-life show than a typical shounen one. And I'm glad it's going to continue, I am certainly not satisfied with only one single episode either, hehe. Oh, and I'd so love if Maikaze released an artbook with their Touhou illustrations and background art... it's gorgeous. |

Very good work considering it's a doujin product, and I think anyone who has seen the preview would already know what the animation quality would be like. However, pleasantly surprised at the fluid fight scenes. (lol@patchy releasing Royal Flare in her own library/Reimu's amulet says 燒肉定食)
The CV did a pretty good job too.. Nakahara Mai's Reimu is spot-on. Sakuya is the one that bothers me slightly though. My head was screaming "Maria-san!!" everytime she speaks.

Overall the anime is very good, but where is my worst robber/thief? Marisa in this one looks so helpless, like a really nice girl gotten messed up by her bad buddies...
Some avi: I have nothing against the maid, just couldn't find suitable avi material.

Because this is a doujin work, so I don't really want to go into the characters much (hell, lot of crazy ideas you can see in others doujinshi out there). Marisa did too little that I can hardly feel that there is anything wrong with her. The way she talks is fine because it's kind of fitting what ZUN has been using all the time. The problem is she give a lazy feeling that even surpasses Reimu (which I think is the laziest character in Touhou, maybe only Kaguya is on par with her).
Aya is nice, and Remilia is <3. She doesn't give enough the ojou-sama vibe, but childish enough. However, what's the hell are those tiny wings? I don't remember it's that small. And where's my Flandre? Shocking, Yukari is 17.

@ Duo Maxwell
I know, I know. Please forgive this Marisa fanboy (also a yuri-harem-holic). It's nothing wrong with Aunt Yukari being 17. @ Shinndou My bet of the said thief is on ⑨ (← I'm not serious).

Spoiler for Robber:
Next ep, please bring me Alice. I can't live without the cute tsundere puppeteer :3. And I miss the infamous Master Spark. And why did Suika have to go buying sake?

Aya is so hyper, she sounded like Chouhi Ekitoku in Koihime Musou, I even expected her to say ~nanoda anytime. Even if the VA are different. Like I said, compared to the professional works, it is average. But it is a B for the effort poured in. The overall feeling is close to a flipflop doujin, in slice-of-life mode. If there are a professional studio that should do it, it should be Shaft, or perhaps Bones. Madhouse is too grim for Touhou, KyoAni have hands full, and other studios, don't get me started on them.

Is the torrent a raw or has it been fansubbed, I'm not clear on this?
If it is a raw then the link needs to go but if it is a fansub then we will list it on AnimeSuki. StrikeS & Ayako have released a trailer, we list it under Touhou Anime Project - Musou Kakyou. Also if it has been fansubbed then this thread cn be moved to the Fansubbed forum. |

Flan usually stays in the basement and is meant to.
Well, having her roaming the Mansion alone is enough to scare everyone in here. It speaks a lot about it. |
