Definitely not GTO, its a more recent series and iirc it was short (12-13 eps). It seems to be somewhat obscure because I can't even find it after hours of looking

I would've given as much info if I could.

All I remember is it was a bout a teenage boy coming back to see his former hometown (a small countryside village) after exchanging some letters from his former elementary teacher and he meets there some girls that were on the same class.

There's this one girl whose mother died and live alone with her father. She has trouble coping with the fact that their old school building, which hasn't been used for a moment is a bout to be blwon up. She used to play the piano there and there is an old one that's still at school. When the latter is about to be blown up, she doesn't want to leave the school and is saved by the main protagonist.

That's all I can rerember.

No, that's not the one.
But thanks for all your answers, I've searched anywhere and, for some reason, couldn't find it. I have very little information about it so it's hard to know it and it appears it wasn't a popular anime. I won't bother you anymore, I'll look at it further alone.
