If this is like Eureka 7 Ao or Star Driver, which judging from the staff and PV it might be, then I'm pretty worried this is going to be a bad series.

In which way will it be like Star Driver and Eureka 7 Ao ?What in these PVs did you see that you reminded you of those two shows?Yes,the staff that created SD is now working on Captain Earth,but they themselves already mentioned how Captain Earth will be different from Star Driver and that it will be super robot show.

That said, I don't think there's any reason to believe that, if you didn't enjoy Star Driver or Ao, Captain Earth is just going to be the same. Ao's creative team isn't a part of this, and I doubt the director or writer have any intention of just retreading Star Driver.

But I just like to be optimistic

Dropping the "triangle" and Utena elements (oh boy how will the MC win this weeks fight! The tension!) out of this makes it an entirely different beast to Star Driver. And it's not like this has a prior series to tarnish.... If it's going to suck it will be for different reasons from SD... though the audio side of things as well as the visuals was something they knocked out of the park, so hopefully they can maintain that level for this if not surpass it. I'm just in this for the sweet 2d mecha animation, something that's rare as shit these days. If it actually ends up being good like the other recent show to use 2d mecha animation than that's just a bonus.
