Excellent episode. Keiji made an appearance and owned everybody, nice fight between Yukimura and Takatora + Kiyomasa and Masanori left to Toyotomi (I didn't expect them to survive this episode, to be honest). But my favorite part of the episode is Ieyasu's speech.

Pretty intense episode. I really liked Ieayasu-Hideyori meeting. Next is Sanada Maru defence, which is one of the most epic parts of the late Sengoku.

Latest episode was good with the buildup, hope it can live up to the hype soon.

Definitely looking forward to this as well.

I hope Hideyori gets added to the games after the anime is over. He'd make a worthy addition. Better than the already-added Naomasa, to be honest.

Considering how things have to go I'm surprised at how villainous they made the Tokugawa side, though. I mean yeah it's mostly Hidetada, but still. Nakata voicing Ieyasu probably doesn't help that perception either. Right now Nobuyuki and Ina are the main personalities holding up that side.

This week..

BEST EPISODE OF THE SEASON. From start to finish, not a single minute was wasted on the battlefield whether it's the bows, guns, or swords fighting. Hell, even that flying squirrel or whatever did something. Anyways, this war is at its climax now and seriously worth the wait!

That was incredebly intense episode.

Kiyomasa's death was right in the feels.

Oh, and good job Ina - it's about time someone slapped Hidetada.

Animation isn't the strongest point of the series and the first episode might look a little messy, but overall it's a very strong series, IMO.

Good buildup episode. I wonder who will live or die next time? Hopefully not one of the Sanadas...

Preparing for Grand Finale. That was a great episode. Nene's appearance was especially a nice touch and her VA did a great job in that scene.

On the other note, I didn't see tsundere-Hidetada coming XD

Yes, as it plays on the historical events straight. If you are tired of seeing Nobunaga all the time in Sengoku period anime (there was a glut of them past few seasons), be advised this one is at the tail end of the Sengoku period. This means you get to see Ieyasu bringing down an iron fist on the remnants of the Toyotomi clan.

If you want the whole story, then play Samurai Warriors 4.

Interesting show until the end. The final fight was exciting although some bits were predictable. Overall quite an experience and I'm not even a fan of most historical series.

That was a solid ending for a good series. 8/10 from me. Main problem was the budget and even then animation wasn't bad, comparing to the half of the other series out there.

P.S. Body count in the finale is way lesser then I expected. Don't have nay problms with it, though XD

Good show from start to finish to be honest. I'm rather tempted to pick up Samurai Warriors 4 now (for cheap).

Ending felt a bit sloppy but overall it was an engaging adaptation.

I think my only issue was Kunoichi not dying. Yukimura dies and his biggest fangirl is having a happy end? I have yet to get to this part of the game though, so maybe it makes more sense there. Still grinding through the Oda story. (Ugh, why does it make you finish each chapter with every character for the gold clear, there are like 12 of them at one point.)

Here's coming from someone who's played the game, if it bears any weight. Putting aside the dated visuals and rushed narrative, this end up being an enjoyable historical action series to sit through. It's incredibly refreshing to see strong focus on the romanticized Sanada clan's journey through the twilight of the Warring States era as opposed to the overused Oda.

One thing I love throughout is the growing conflict within Nobuyuki to follow his pragmatist values while holding on to his familial bond to Yukimura as a caring older brother. In the end, his anguished and horrified look says it all as his younger brother charges forth to his doom to mark the end of an era.

8/10 for me.

Oh, just because:
