Welp. Fate/Extra, Owari and 3Gatsu in a single year. And Fate/Extra is bound to be extreme resource hog in terms of animation. This sounds like a production disaster in the making.

I sure hope neither of the series suffer due to this. Neither of them deserve to.

Otherwise quite hyped for second best show of the year(with the first being rakugo)

With Kizu staff free I wonder how much input they will have on Owari. It might be wishful thinking but I think this might be a very well animated Gatari.

"mistake" because we all know what heavy exposition implies in film. it works well only in the series.

Its a mistake in that Kizumonogatari, one of the "first" novels to read when reading monogatari is now the LAST thing you have to watch if you want to even comprehend what is going on or why it is going on. There's no reason a movie can't have monologues. They did not replace them with anything - you have literally multiple minutes long pointless scenes of characters WALKING in silence now.

The strength and focus of monogatari is its dialogue, words, meaning. Kizumonogatari should be an one-off experimental thing that should not carry through to the rest of the series. Animation quality can, but presentation of material should not. And animation quality is in danger with Extella Zero hogging resources like crazy considering its a fate work. Shaft is not known t o schedule their productions well.

Yeah, just saw the news. That explains it, cause 1-cour is too long to cover one volume for this series.

There's plenty of source material left.

They just didn't want to animate zokuowarimonogatari or anything after.

That's long enough, actually. Hitagi Crab was, after all, adapted in just two episodes. Same goes for Ougi Formula.
