Fun episode. They swapped the chapter order, showing the cake-off first, but I think it ended up working for the better. Only missing scenes that I can recall are Irisviel in the morning/bed scenes (the ones with Shirou and Kuro), and Sella in the flashback showing super loli Illya and Shirou.

Otherwise, really good fun. They even kept the Super Serious Shirou scene and the "older sisters of TypeMoon" scene. The end card was really nice, too.

Next week is time for Bazette to show her stuff.

The cake competition was fun and in the end Ilya won the kiss but all Shiro just won a vacuum to the face. Miyu shouldn't be so angry she at least gets to sleep with Shiro.

Ilya's attempt at trying to prove she is the older sister were also hilarious. Doing what Ilya will did in real life would actually cause most people to hide the fact they have a connection to you. Still a pretty nice moment at the end.

Next time Bazette finally makes her appearance.

Not a bad episode, had some fun elements in there. Certainly pretty cleanly split between the cooking incident and the older/younger sister debate which worked alright. Rough time for Shirou despite his harem abilities

. Can't really blame him for wishing his father was around to be home and help the m/f ratio a bit. Illya got the kiss which I can say was right since effort does mean a lot. But in Kuro's favor she has her forwardness so she'll probably sleep along with Shirou more often than Illya would like.

Even with all the comedy it ended on a nice note. Shows that despite all that has happened Illya and Kuro are finally in good standing with each other. Kuro owes plenty to Illya in terms of her being here right now. Definitely makes her from someone Kuro was going to wipe out to a very important existence. And pretty well securing Illya as Kuro's personal mana tank

But yeah the preview really is the big thing. Should be one heck of an episode coming up.

That was a cute episode. Illya and Kuro have already settled into a sisterly relationship already, bickering at times yet tender at others. The next episode or two are going to be great, already chomping at the bit.

Also, and this is just speculation on my part, but maybe Kuro and Miyu are more alike than I initially thought. I mean having the exact same birthday as Illya? That rises a few red flags in my book.

I'd just like to add this little scene from this episode:

So yeah, just more stuff to underscore how this universe is different from mainline Fate, as we're CLEARLY shown a much younger Illya with a young Shiro. And people still try to argue around this (Oh! They used magic to stop Illya's aging!).

You know... in the Fate series, it's usually "being Lancer is suffering".

In Fate/kaleid liner, however, I learned that "being Shirou is suffering". Cause he usually mistreated in an awful way due to his "misfortune".
