Anyone know of any good japanese rock or lite rock bands? I am looking to expand my japanese music colelction. Something similar to the Pillows would be nice.

There is a "music" forum in case you didn't notice.

I believe that forum is for discussing music. The Sugestions Forum's description says "If you want help finding good anime, manga or music, ask in here."

I won't be much of a help since I don't really listen to jrock, but I can think of 2 (!!) songs that I really like.

Psychic Lover - XTC (Witchblade OP)

and

Myuuji - eX dream (X TV OP)

I don't know if they're anything like the Pillows (never heard !) though. I haven't heard any other songs from Psychic Lover or Myuuji either.

So, well, um... I'm sure this didn't help at all.

Spitz - The band sang some Honey and Clover insert songs like hachimitsu, sakana, Y, spica, tsuki ni kaere
Lucifer - already disband. They were responsible for Kaikan Phrase's music.
TM Revolution - you might already know the band. He sang many gundam songs like ignited, vestige, invoke, meteor
L' Arc~en~Ciel - my favorite rock band. They sang many Kenshin's theme songs and some FMA song

I second Spitz. I also recommend Suga Shikao - some of his songs are light rock. Heck, just download and obtain the Honey and Clover soundtrack.

Ah, sorry then.
Anyway, I don't really know any good Japanese bands or anything. I mostly listen to the soundtracks of animes.

When I'm in the mood for Pillows-ish music I listen to the band FLOW. They did an opening song for Naruto (called "Go!") and the first opening for Eureka 7 (called "Days"). Their music is good stuff.

Spitz is a good one. There is also Mr. Children. And my personal favorite Bump Of Chicken, who did an OP for one of the ONE PIECE movies(not that I'm a fan of ONE PIECE or anything). But those are good, famous rock bands from Japan.
