According to additional info from ANN, it's some sort of "fairy tale" anime.

That was a pretty dull first episode. I felt as depressed as the heroine watching this. Maybe that was the intended feeling?
Regarding the time travel, seems like they're going with a causal loop. The grandma had already met her granddaughter in the past and knew she had to send her on this day.

Visually, this first episode definitely impressed me. The enchanting night sky and backgrounds looks so colorful and full of details. Definitely impressed me with P.A. Works' production quality so far.
It seems there's elements of magic/supernatural present in the anime but so far, the storytelling feels somewhat slow pace. Hitomi is a character I'm wondering about considering the amount of details focused on her. Some of the other cast has my attention too so I hope the anime will take time to develop them.

This was an interesting premiere but I couldn't help but wonder if the heroine's life was so beyond help the grandma really had to send her 60 years to the past to cure her depression. Her schoolmates were perfectly friendly to her at least, not so different to the new(old?) kids that are probably here to heal her. And wouldn't seeing art similar to that guy's also help her, or is it a magical drawing tablet that's not manufactured in the future.

Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsuna no Koto season 3 is here! XD
Seriously speaking though, the idea of sending your granddaughter to the past, and this action being irreversible, is a bit wonky just so it cures her colour blindness (or would that be a metaphor for depression?). In any case, it does seem a bit extreme, but considering how unique the take on time travel, I'm just going to accept it. Of course, how Aoi is related to our heroine would be the biggest question. Is Aoi her grandfather? Or is our heroine's mother adopted by Kohaku from the union of our Heroine and Aoi in the past? Or some other reason? Clearly though Aoi (or his art?) seems to be the one brining colour to her life back, especially since Kohaku sent her to his room directly. In any case, still early on the cour, but easily the best pilot episode so far. There's still Juliet and Imouto Ja Nai I'm looking forward to, but honestly I don't know how they're going to compete. If there's anything I can see topping this, it would be Thunderbolt Fantasy 2, but then again it is a sequel, and not to mention a lot of people don't consider it anime, so whatever. As a side note, I knew I heared Sayu/Azusa/Konoe, despite the heroine being a Rei clone. Ishihara seems to have gotten the short end of the stick these past few years (especially compared to her previous partner duo Ogura Yui), and I'm genuinely surprised she can still land a leading role. Good for her, as I thought she was pretty much done as a VA.

Episode 1
Man, I was really willing to give this show the benefit of the doubt but I got nothing but Glasslip vibes throughout the entire episode. I'm mean yeah sure just send your grandkid into the past for shits and giggles. What could possibly go wrong? I like how in Steins Gate, the concept of time travel is enough to start World War 3 but here no one gives a shit. That time magic better be reversible, Grandma. I also liked how the MC had all the time in world to interject whilst Grandma was casting her long ass spell but she didn't do shit. Also, those schoolkids have a really short attention span. They're right in the middle of grilling the MC then all of a sudden they get distracted by CLOUDS.

They definitely won't. As I said, it's highly likely a causal loop, so nothing she does in the past can affect the future because she was always part of the past. Makes you wonder what will happen to her though, since it's said she can't go back to the future and her older self was nowhere to be seen. The idea of her being her own grandmother was already brought up, and I'm pretty sure that's going to be the big twist of the anime.

That was fairly interesting episode. Some people might dislike slow pace, but I think it's fine. That said exactly because slow build up it's hard to say where exactly this will go or how good it will be.
Well, just by courtesy finishing first episode on first try without falling asleep, this is already better then Glasslip.

This show basically got itself another episode on the basis of making sweet sweet love to my eyeballs. I think the slow pacing is supposed to reinforce her feeling of abandonment and depresion. But yeah throwing your granddaughter into the past is a REALLY wierd decision.
Also apparently magic is a known about thing even in our day on this Earth, yet it seems to be boiled down to basic tricks?

We don't know if they're blood related. They don't really look alike.
Or as Kazu-kun said, she could be her other grandmother. Hitomi has a kid with Aoi, Kohaku has a kid with another guy, their two kids get together and Hitomi is born. This way you have Hitomi with Kohaku and herself as her grandmothers.
