I preferred Reeboks, myself. Nowadays, I like Timberland's offerings, tho.

There was a time in my life when I could only buy Olympikus, myself. You'll realize it's left quite a sour taste in my... er... feet. Lame joke, I know.

So from what I can gather, they explain what basquash means in episode 5. However I dont think I really grasped it.
Spoiler for Basquash Episode 5:

Aohige, if you saw the episode can you clarify that a little?

episode 5 was kind a sleeper for me. They are trying to have Haruka carry the show in episode 5 and it doesn't work. Dan gives in to easy, but I guess his reason to giving in is consistant, I knew he was going to give in anyway...

Spoiler for why dan give in..:

No, not exactly....

Dan was making a pun with "Baka" and "sukashiteru".
sukasu, sukashiteru is someone who's not acting as he/she intends, or hiding their intention. He uses the phrase against the The Toast... I mean The Worst leader, then in a flash of brilliance while chanting "baka" and "suka", starts saying "bakasuka". "bakasuka" is a word that means many, tons, or barrage of.
Basically Dan is jumping from word to word, punning his way, until he screams "Basquash" when he does the final squash serve-like attack, Basquash.

It's a Japanese pun, don't feel too bad if you don't get it.
I feel sorry for whoever has to sub this.

Dan doesn't speak with logic, he just utters whatever he feels like at the time.
Dan's intention of naming the sport, and the anime staff's intention of naming the title and the sport is not the same.

The post a few pages back about this week being the "definitive version of the opening" was true. There were a few new shots of Eclipse, including the basketball shooting by them and Flora at the end.

Look, most people are probably already familiar with Squash. I'm not acknowledging anything until it's directly stated in the episode and just going with the initial assumption. So Basketball plus Sasquatch for me.

Is that so...

I think its Flora since she is the one facinated by the Legends and she's short.

As short as Dan. Her big sis doesn't seem to be vertically challenged.

Plus she was about to be sexually harrased by thugs till the rival team leader rescued her.

This will play part in hiding her identity by cutting her hair to a boy cut.

Flora may be athletic but she can't protect herself like Sela can.

Now the question is how will she insert herself into the team composed of the most legendary street basketball players?

She has the best weapon ever, She has Dan's cryptonite as a friend. Coco can get anything she wants from Dan.

Am I the only person here who prefers And1's over Nike, Reebok, Addidas or anything else?

Now if this show had And1 big foots, I'd be all over it and even forget how corny some of it is.

Interesting names I got out of the ED credits of 5. Aurora Skybloom, James Loane, Slash Keens. People who know of Cornelia from Geass should be able to know who Slash Keens is.

I don't even understand why there's any argument over the title. It's obviously basketball+squash if you actually pay attention to how it's spelled. Even if you try to make the "oh Japanese people are bad at English so it's easy for them to make mistakes!" argument, you still have to somehow overlook the fact that the part that's being questioned is written as スカッシュ which is indisputably "Squash." If they meant sasquatch, then why would they write squash instead of squatch?

I just don't get it. And while I'm on the subject, I might as well go ahead and say that it IS Sela. Not Sera or Sarah or whatever else.

besides one guy, I don't think anyone thought it was not Sela. Still, the name can be romanize from either how it is written or how it's pronounced. Written=Sera Pronounced=Sela (remember that Japanese doesn't have an L sound in their language, the closer they have is the R sound.) IT is much like how people choose to write Levy(Revy) from black lagoon. The official website has it Sela romanized and "Sera" in Japanese (katakana).

I know, I was just saying that because I remember someone saying that they were hoping her name wasn't meant to be Sarah.

That's the eyecatch before Flora appears with Dan's sister Coco. Also the person in the OP has green eyes like Flora. Her older sister's eyes are more golden.

Still think that it's Flora. She's wearing a big cap. Just pile your hair in it. No need to cut your hair. That was the old fashion way of hiding gender in anime. The smaller person in the OP wears a cap also.

With Flora, it's mostly a concern to hide identity. Sela is on the team so there is no need to hide gender.
